Practice, practice and more practice until you get used to it.

I haven't flown right seat in years until one day riding right seat with the boss, he suggested I take the controls. I did and we ended up getting a pop up clearance for a approach. We did the GPS approach, and the boss was impressed I did so well.

But he was not as impressed as I was surprised...
 
CFII normally just watch the student do the approach.

I had a friend (sadly, he passed away last year) who always flew from the right seat, even when solo.
 
I can't fly from the right seat in my plane. I could, but stopping would be a problem. No brakes on the right side.

so the baseball scenario is this: bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom of the ninth, score tied. Why is there anyone on deck? why bother?

edit: I should have asked: why is the next guy in the batting order was on deck?

Not usually, but sometimes the field shrinks dramatically when the wheels touch the ground. Especially when landing downhill. :eek2:
There is a private field I fly into that seems to lose about half it's length as soon as the wheels touch, no matter how close to the crops I touch down.

ok, except the replacement batter has to be a pinchhitter, not the next guy in the order.

(ok, my question wasn't quite clear/correct... I should have asked why the next guy in the batting order was on deck)

Because that's the rules.

Rule 5.10(k): The next batter up must be in the on-deck circle, and this is the only player who should be there (i.e., not more than one player at a time). No other player of the side at bat will be permitted on the field except the batter, base runners, and coaches.

Don't say nuthin' 'bout what inning he will be up in.
 
When I get around to updating my map, the state of Alabama will now be filled in.
 
I think communications, overall, were better when messages cost about $6 a word to send.

Ha ha ha!! Whoa haven’t heard that one in a LONG tine. In the version I last heard the farmer said “Cowway? A full grown Holstein is about 2000 lbs!”
 
Kind of scratching my head on how an ILS approach would have minimums that are higher than a LOC for the same rwy? Any thoughts as to how that happens?
Different approach, but also interesting that the LPV approach for this RWY goes down to 250'... I don't think I've seen an ILS with a DA so much higher before.

Obstructions on the missed or something penetrating the protected area of the ILS?

Proabbly a hint with the GS unusable for coupled approaches note. Interference?

I had never heard of it either. Basically just a small ovalish roll, crispy and tasty on the outside, light on the inside. Great for a breakfast samich, maybe chicken salad samich, deli meats, prob not for PB&J but to each his own. Or her own, of course, cause I hear womens eat samiches too.
