So, uhh... wow? (pilot in class Bravo without clearance, McCarran)

Landing at ORD was eye opening. I was following the ILS, but was convinced I was doing something wrong... the taxiway looked far more like a runway than the actual runway. I was probably 300 AGL before I was certain which was which.

Add a little confirmation bias and aging eyesight....I can see how it could happen, although the 737 admittedly should've been a clue to at least go around....
IIRC he said something about wondering why the 737 was there, implying that he thought it was on the runway. A go-around certainly might have been a good idea, but I'm not sure whether the 737 was sitting at the hold-short line or was pulling up to it as he crossed the threshold. If it was the latter, the proximity issue could have become apparent too late for a go-around to mitigate it.

The 737 was holding short of 20L, the runway on which Ford was cleared to land. The close spacing of the ramp/taxiway/taxiway/runway resulted in the 737, holding short of 20L at Lima, being parked across Charlie, which was the taxiway on which ford landed.

I assume that he continued the landing because he felt he was safely above the 737 as he flew over it. Probably not the best decision-making there...

That's not at all what I asked. Have you ever landed at SNA? How about ORD?
Landed on the taxiway, or on the runway?

What’s your point, anyway? Are you seeking to excuse “accidentally” landing on a taxiway as a mere “oops”? And that such an event is somehow less dangerous than busting Bravo airspace? “No big deal, happens all the time”? “Completely excusable?” Is that what you’re trying to sell here?

It isn't about what point I'm trying to make -- it is about *yours*.

I would like to know what from what experience perspective you are coming from that has formed your opinion about the relative (de)merit of landing on the taxiway at SNA, and it is completely relevant as to weather or not you have operated there, flown in that pattern, spoken to those controllers, seen that approach sight picture, etc.

Armchair quarterbacking someone's actions is fine, but John Elway's opinion from the La-Z-Boy is going to hold different validity than Uncle Rico's.

My point is that landing on a taxiway is bad, especially if there’s already another airplane on it. All of my instructors have said so, and the FAA says so. It will get you a visit with FSDO but it won’t get a US Marshal at your door to collect your ticket. All it will cost you is some “awareness training”. By the same token, flying into Bravo airspace is bad. That 210 pilot will visit with FSDO too, but we want an an “emergency revocation”? How about just some “awareness training“? And maybe some “attitude readjustment” if the investigation shows that it’s warranted?

Two different people go the wrong way down a one way street. Both go by a cop who waves them to the side of the road. Person one pulls over, admits his mistake. Person number two blows by the cop, tells the cop he's not pulling over and continues to barrell down the wrong way on a one way.

Who loses their license?

You can lose your license for driving the wrong way down a one-way street?

failure to stop, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment

ah, but he never requested a clearance.

We’ve gained ALOT of keyboard warriors in the past few years.

when the discussions turn into a reality show it would be nice to just grab the several that are participating and throw them into a new private thread where they can argue with each other until they get worn out.

I'm worried about both, but I'm more worried about an aging pilot that repeatedly CAN'T follow ATC instructions.

Is that worrying affecting your sleep patterns?

He has now blocked his flights on flight aware.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I wonder if the putz is trying to figure out how to prevent liveatc from recording his incompetence.

no one here is based out of where ever he's based?

Torrance Ca. I believe that is where his last flight terminated.

What kills me was his apparent inability to copy a ten-digit number was attributed to "I'm flying."

Woe be tithed if he's asked to copy an amended routing.

The 2020 answer? The one that pulls over.

The guy is obviously just a rude entitled loser. The whole wife approve thing is also such a lame joke

Seems like the male equivalent of "I want to talk to your manager" Karen

It seems to me the people on this forum just get stupider and more argumentative as time goes by. There was a time when this forum was a great source for information and respectful discussion. Those days are long gone... along with some of the most knowledgeable members.
See, I used to feel the same way. Then I got on Facebook and joined my local "flights above" group. Holy s***, the questions people ask. Made this place seem like the deep end of the gene pool.

Hilarious, if only he'd have called her Karen. Would have been 100% perfect for this guy!

I hate that this miscreant will have enough time to sort out his story, fake contrition, and get away with a mere 709 ride instead of an emergency revocation on the grounds of hazardous d-baggery.

None of that will erase the tape.

Yes, he will claim some sort of emotional duress or he forgot class B rules or that his dog ate his ipad, apologize profusely to the feds and say it'll never ever happen again, and they'll settle for the 709. Nobody gets called on their BS anymore, however flagrant.

BS.

(Sorry. It was irresistible)

There is that other website that says F you, we are tracking everyone. Forget the name of it though.

I forget why I bought a silver subby to flightradar24, but:

Well, I guess J hasn't flown in a while.
