Rock star parking!
I believe there are times where the traffic flow reverses on the west end of that loop, so the prescribed entry if you follow the signs is to get off an exit to the south (Exit 113, Hwy 26).Coming into the show, take hwy 44 exit toward the city, get in the right lane and turn right on Knapp road. I expect you won't be be able to miss getting in, there will be cones everywhere. Follow their directions to parking, it might help to put a "Prepaid" sign in your windshield in very large type, but probably you just have to stop and show someone your parking ticket.
There is some private parking, but you've prepaid, so you don't want that. Just follow the cones and volunteers will direct you. Wherever you park, there is a traffic loop that goes around the museum and comes back out on 44, it goes counter clockwise. There might be an out to go south along Scholler, the loop will be high traffic, especially shortly after the airshow.
Tickets are at the main gate, which is marked on the map as EAA AirVenture.

You should be able to get a spot. It may not be a good spot, but it'll be a spot. Bring good walking shoes!Wait, you all are there already? I’m just now looking at my calendar, since I’ll probably have to boink off of work for this. How is GAP on Wednesday AM?
All you have to do is get here a week early lolRock star parking!
I heard he's also partnering with Shell Aerostar to promote a new men's cologne. Also, I was reading the guidebook and I thought.... That looks a lot like @SixPapaCharlie
Looks like he finally hit the big time.
Dunno. I'll let you know as soon as I know. And if you leave before he does, I'm sure we can figure something out. When is planning to leave as we're departing Friday the 26th?
Nah, that guy has a better haircut. Also, I was reading the guidebook and I thought.... That looks a lot like @SixPapaCharlie

Please post a review after the show. I'm in the market for a new Oshkosh tent, something a bit bigger than my "two"-person backpacking tent. My wife said she'll go to Airventure if we have a place she can stand up in.In other news, my new tent is way bigger than it looked on the Internet
Uber is great. Drivers from all over descend on OSH to make money during the week. The only thing to be aware of is that there are specific Uber/Lyft pickup/drop-off locations on the site. They are on the EAA maps.If we were to stay at a local hotel how available is uber ?

My new one is quite big, but I really like it so far. I'm 6'2" (1.88m) and can stand up in it. REI Wonderland XPlease post a review after the show. Bryan is a model? That’s just Plane Silly.
Nah, the Delta has $65 worth of parts and the rest of the price is Bryan's endorsement fee.Lightspeed marketing meeting: "After the increase in booth prices, we only have $1.67 left in our marketing budget for the ad. Who can we get with that?"
(seriously though, that's very cool to see @SixPapaCharlie )
Wow. I didn't realize inflation was that bad. I remember what he used to be willing to do for two bits.Lightspeed marketing meeting: "After the increase in booth prices, we only have $1.67 left in our marketing budget for the ad. Who can we get with that?"

My practice for long cross countries was to fly as far as weather or daylight allowed, and stop at the nearest medium size airport. We always found nearby accommodations and food, and any delays were always less than the distance covered beyond the "Safe reserved room" distance.
We were happy with all but the one near Miami, but that was spring break time, and everything was filled. 80,000 miles of cross country, most states east of the Rockies.
Trip from Washington DC to central Missouri, we went to central Illinois before the weather stopped us, easy hour and a quarter the next morning, as the weather had drifted south, as predicted.
