Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Yeah, me too… ignoring the runway we’d just flown past that was about 5:00 a mile away.

Along those lines, during one lesson my instructor mentioned "Oh look, there's Plum Island" (we had just flow right over it) and then pulled power. I set up for the unoccupied beach parking lot near Seabrook. Text book.

However, my instructor pointed out that we had just flown over the Plum Island AIRPORT, which would have been a somewhat better place to put it down.

After that, whenever she pulled power I would make sure I looked to the right and behind us to see if she tried something similar...

the beatings will continue until morale improves

Man, gas is getting expensive.

(everyone) How expensive is it.??

Gas is so expensive I had to sell my car for gas money...

Doesn’t seem to be bothering most people as they’re still tearing down the interstate at 80-90 in their giant pickups and SUVs.

My solution was to take the motorcycle (44 mpg) instead of the truck (25 mpg). The bike is more fun but it's hard to carry sheets of plywood back to the house ...

I also see them tearing down the highway in their smart cars, Sparks and Prius's (what's the plural of Prius?)

You've definetly got to be creative...

Not a joke. I would have pulled out my phone for a picture of the vehicle in front of me, but there was a cop behind me.

Michigan "Water Winter Wonderland" license plate: 1PEN15

But, the funny part - someone did not slip this past the vanity plate censors. This is the standard one digit, three letters, 2 digit pattern for that style plate - the state gave it to someone without them even asking...

Many years ago, Litton Industries in Toronto was contracted to assemble some electronics for us, and I took a business trip to deal with some issue or other. Working with their engineers to look up some critical part, I learned that their inventory system was named the Part Number Information System (PNIS), and you can guess how it was pronounced. They were still laughing about it.

1PEN15? Whoosh! Right over my head.

Again? Just how tall (short) are you?;)

But it reminded me of this:

In high school we were all given an aptitude test. One question was to rearrange the following letters to describe an important part of the anatomy that is often referred to as stiff. "PNEIS"
Those that said SPINE became doctors. The rest of us became pilots.
