I was a young engineer on the L1011. You don’t get a call from the flight attendants about the temp not being right… you get NINE.
I got a old house thermostat, mounted it on a small piece of aluminum and put double sticky tape on it… and strategically positioned it where I could see it out the peep hole of the cockpit door.
Spent hours looking out that thing giggling my fool head off. Capt and FO asked me what was so funny. Took turns watching one turn it up, the next down… and on and on and on. Not one call from ATL to LAX.
The entirety of the group of flight attendants that bid that route were on to me in no more than three trips… was good while it lasted!
