Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

If I'm every accused of being a German spy and they ask me 1940's style questions to see if I'm an American, I'm doomed. I've never seen Lord of the Rings, have watched exactly 1 of the Star Trek movies, don't know a single person who's ever been on "dances with the stars", and the only thing I know about baseball is that Yogi Berra was a genius and that maybe trading Babe Ruth to the Yankees was a bad plan. Based on all that someone could argue that I don't really work in IT.

"Skylane 1345, turn a half a radian to your left, descend to 1330 yards, contact Boston approach on 2.537 meters, expect clearance to runway IX in 7 millidays."

Were you trying to sound more or less confusing than current ATC?

I worked on a large scale simulation federation that had “drive by architecture”. One pronouncement: all angles are in radians. Next one (weeks later): all locations are in lat-long.

So locations were communicated in lat-long radians. Not very intuitive.

Is a smoot more or less than a smidge? What about a skosh?

I shouldn’t have laughed at that
