Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

They missed the threaded single wire tv antenna plugs I also still use. (I think I actually still have an adapter for those to the forked connectors for old vhf/uhf optioned black and white tvs in a junk draw somewhere).

I still have several RCA cables in use, just as I still have a CD player in use. Streaming is a great convenience, but most streaming sources are not CD quality.

Not sure how proud I should be, but as someone sporting a record player and vintage 70's receiver in my living room, (and as someone who worked at Best Buy 25 years ago) I passed the test!

Also as a note, Spotify has lossless streaming now, and Tidal has for a while. I've used both and am happy with them.

I guess I failed the test... but I'm not OCD enough to worry about red to red, etc... I'm happy with the video going to video and L/R going to audio.

edit: the comment about OCD was not intended to insult anyone.

It took me way too long...I thought it was maybe about composite vs rgb video and then digital vs analog RCA audio. So yeah, I over thought that.

What was the priest doing at the haunted gym?
Exorcising.

Why do we place an apostrophe at the end of 'demonic spirits?'
To make it a possessive plural.

sadly, for me anyway, I don't think so. I'm not sure what was intended and I'm most definitely not young
I suppose it should have explained that it is a test for people that are familiar with audio and video cables. If they had put an HDMI cable in there, would you have recognized it?

Oh I recognized the cables. I have plenty of cables with the rca connectors. I have some white/yellow/red cables where I only use two of the colors. I have some white/yellow/red cables being used for component video (hey, they work, they just ain't the red/blue/green connectors). I have some high-quality cables and I have some low-end junk ones.

Where I pay attention to wiring convention is with RJ45 connectors and also XLR cables.

What happens if you don't pay your exorcist?

Your house gets repossessed.

I’m just glad it didn’t depict cat5 cables. The sight of those usually triggers a low level rage in me. ;) Somehow despite their education and skills I have yet to meet an IT person who labels their wires, has any sort of pattern or logic with the routing, let alone haveing an as built schematic that is updated with changes made. The number of times I seen a “closet” with 100’s of cables (all the same color) randomly routed and birdnested together…. “run a line from this port to that port” changes over the course of years is all fine and dandy when the code is accessible. When the only person with the passcode to access the code gets disgruntled or hit by a bus and the network starts glitching it becomes a complete nightmare.

When the floor tiles aren't actually resting on the grid, but instead are pressing down on the cabling, you may have a problem...

Best movie ever. And that scene reminded me of an ex-girlfriend from college. She was a physics major, later ended up working at a company that made directed energy weapons and taught a marine group how to use them in the 90s. Which is weird because they officially never existed.

For our anniversary my wife kept saying she wanted something shiny and fast ... something that would go from zero to one eighty as soon as she stepped on it.

So I bought her a bathroom scale:

Has your doctor told you when you’ll be able to eat solid food again?
If I remember right (from when I had my jaw broke in two places and the bones plated and my mouth wired shut) its abought 45-70 days depending on how it heals. Thankfully my dad had also had his jaw broke and for warned me that when he got it cut loose he ordered a steak and couldn’t eat it because his chewing muscles had atrophied. So I regularly flexed them and could eat normally when the wires came off. Sneezing or yawning while it’s wired shut is a total B&@#^ though.
