“ special ops” version is what I’m being told.

What this.

Every near mid-air, near miss or whatever you want to call almost having a collision in the air with another aircraft has been with a CH-46. The last time it happened I got caught in the rotor wash at 50 AGL. It was a rodeo and no one was more surprised that I did not hit the ground than me. Which led to an interesting personal interaction with the A/C commander after I landed.

Prairie Aviation Musuem at BMI. I'm always amazed at just how big these things were.
I ducked out of work to see her last landings at KBMI. The wind was howling that day and I think he only did one pass down 11 and circled to land on 20.
Here's a terrible video I took of the last landing on 4/13/2006 from my Nokia phone Canon Powershot S400. The pictures I have are equally terrible.

New message here mods. Files too large to process? Makes it tough to share the joys

Had to go around slow traffic on the way to OSH Thurs. morning. Not sure what kind of experimental this is, but I think they put the tail on backwards. @masloki

I usually don't post work stuff to PoA, but my daughter got to fly with me for the first time the other day. Very fun, especially since it was Mom that had to deal with a 2 year old for the 7 or so hours to Madrid. :p

Still trying to figure out how to upload pics on here. "insert image" does not work for me for some reason. Always gives me the error "file to large to upload". What am I doing wrong?

What am I doing wrong?
1) you’re not using tapatalk
2) you’re not following the directions someone posted above

I did this test thru iPhone browser (yuck, can’t imagine using this on a regular basis) and only get that message if I try to post using the actual size. But if I change it, even to ‘large’, it posts fine.

Using taptalk to test. Why can't I just use the regular browser to post a pic?

You can. As several people have posted, including myself, with step by step instructions on how to do it.

The biggest problem is that since we use the bbcode to insert web-hosted pics into our posts, the link you insert into the [ing][/ing] wrapper has to be the in a format similar to [ing]https:www.yourpicturehost.com/you'reid/youralbum/yourpicture.jpg[/ing] (I'm using N for M here so you can see.

Some media hosting sites, like the old photohub cr@p, make it difficult for you to post a link in the clear like this. What you end up with is an encrypted mess that does not end in ".jpg" or ".bmp" or any other accepted media file format.

So, when you copy and paste your link into the [ing][/ing] wrapper, make sure the link ends in a accepted file format.

Unfortunately was only at KOSH for 2 days, camping 1 night. There was no way I could camp another night in that heat. But I got a solid 24 hours surrounded by planes! (sorry, might spam board with a couple messages of photos).

Because who doesn't love Cessna 195s

Not the highest resolution photo, but pretty amazing to eat your breakfast, sip coffee, look up and have the two ford trimotors pointing at you (turning base->final).

I *love* the tri-motor, and I love this one too. Probably have about 30 pictures of this guy below.

The vacant stare of the tug driver conveys his regret in volunteering to haul planes 24/7.

So I'm waiting like 30 minutes for the VTOL Osprey to take off, eyes fixed forward watching all the take-off traffic... Then I randomly turn around and see this thing just staring at me from like 4 feet away. Definitely caught me off guard!

As a first-timer it was amazing waking up surrounded by planes, leaving my tent and seeing the powered chutes already enjoying the day.

Who would have guessed that "Super Guppy" doesn't want an intersection departure. Back-taxiing to the end. Takeoff video here: SuperGuppyTakeoff(GoPro)

*CAUTION* wake turbulence...

The Osprey is much bigger in real life than I expected. Two videos if you're interested. One is the aeroshell team landing right before osprey takeoff, and then the osprey takeoff. Sorry, I'm a bad camera when when zoomed in :)

Armed security for this guy? I wonder why ;)

From my photo roll it turns out I love pretty much every polished aluminum plane...

Stopped by the Daher exhibit and confirmed that the TBM and Kodiak are out of my price range for the foreseeable... forever. But a man can dream.

Given the spectrum of bathroom graffiti I've witnessed in my life -- I'll allow it.

I'll never go to Oshkosh, but I do enjoy all the pictures.!!

Took a girl to St. Jude in Memphis for Lifeline this morning, and decided to follow the river back north.

Great photos, thanks for sharing.
I'm curious what altitude you flew? These all seem rather low, like 2500 AGL.

I was 1000 agl most of the way. The phone has a pretty wide angle lense. I basically never fly that low, but I got a wild hair. The airport I dropped off my passengers at was M01, which is right on the river, and I saw lots of exposed sand bars that would make excellent emergency runways. I love flying along rivers and seeing all the infrastructure and old river towns.
