Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Plain Escorts were lackluster, but the GT's were fun and fast. My 83 went over a hundred in 4th, continued accelerating in 5th. Great commuter, mix of city, and 3 hour country trips. 15 inch alloys with H rated tires cornered as well as my Porsche, but better gas mileage, with sequential port injection and tuned SS headers from the factory.

I was stationed in the UK in the late 90s/early 2000. The Escort Cosworth was an amazing little hatch. I never got to own one, but did get to drive one a few times. The giggle factor was quite high in the roundabouts.

Hindsight being 20/20, i should have bought any of them that I could and paid to have stored them. They’re worth a bundle now.

That said, I’d love to find a standard US spec Escort in the condition of Skychaser’s meme. They were easily tuned to be a fun and capable little car.

Back in the day, the Escort GT was a hot ride in SCCA autocross and showroom stock racing. And you could rent one from Enterprise......

Defective concept, no steering tiller. Needs a shifter for baking up, presumably stick since the people old enough to use that know how to use one, and the efficiency is better.

No seat belt, rollover protection, antilock brakes, no way that can be approved.

Just noticed, that needs wheelie bars with wheels, for exuberant acceleration when a pretty nurse comes in sight!

3 DIT, 4 DIT, 2 DIT, DAH
CREI, CREI, RAH RAH RAH

Very inside joke cheer at ball games between Bliss Electrical School and Capitol Radio Electronics Institute.

They both had very active Ham clubs, so code skills was a given for the students and players, but not necessarily others in the stands

Well that stinks.
