Friday Harbor on San Juan Island in Washington State. A couple of yellow Beavers on the water, lots of boat activity and a sunny June day. Just the way I like it!

To complete the set, there is another airport on San Juan Island, Roche Harbor (WA09) on the NW corner. Easy walk to the marina, restaurants, shops, rental cabins, a large public park, and lime kilns history lesson. A great place to spend a summer day. There is a $10 landing fee. Well worth it.

These guys showed up at CMI for gas last week right before we left on our trip. Pilots were super cool; stood around talking, letting people take pictures in & on the planes, handing out stickers. Whole airport came out.
We left shortly before them, and watching on adsb, I was surprised that they stayed about 1500agl, as it was HOT that day. I was at 10.5 to beat the heat, but apparently they were more concerned with headwinds.
Last one includes an old jeep the fire/ rescue squad has. I think it's the first "crash truck" cmi had. I've never seen it move from its corner in the firehouse. I didn't know if it ran, but they fired it right up and brought it out for the photo opportunity.

interesting, eerily almost identical pic posted on a local FB group today. is it national Airplane! day or national autopilot day or something?
Not much of a view en route today. Beautiful clear at departure and destination but scattered clouds for the 1.5 hours of cruise.
