Flying Pittsburgh (KBTP) to Merritt Island, Fl. (KCOI) and need a decent stopover airport for fuel and snack. On field restaurant a plus. Any suggestions?

LZU - Lawrenceville GA. Just NE of Atlanta. Has a restaurant on the field and is (mostly) clear of the Class B around Hartsfield.

Seems like Charleston or some spot in SCarolina would be a good spot. Maybe even Savannah GA if you've got the legs for it.

Hickory NC has a small restaurant and a cool little aviation museum to tour. Very little traffic so easy in, easy out.

I recommend taking a peek at this handy site! Built by a fellow PoA'er. Can help you find on-field restaurants based on your flight path.

Also use the stop over feature in AirNav. It allows you to set departure and destination and max leg length and it finds fastest and cheapest (fuel) stops and takes into account the difference in distance to get to the cheaper gas. Combined with the Flight For Bites and some other sites, you have what you need.

The self-serve pump is on the ramp for both the restaurant and museum. The price isn't too bad there (though Elkin, just to the north, is cheaper).

Thanks! Didn’t know about that site!
