new here ,how old was this guy? could he have done some of those things ? I am not going to read all the provided links but could some of them be misunderstood ? did he just leave or did he get the hammer? in the year or so I am on poa I see his name come up now and than and wondered who was this guy.

I imagine there was a modicum of truth to several of the items I listed, but quite possibly grossly exaggerated. Sometimes he got called out on stuff. One item I particularly remember is the fire in New Orleans. There was a fellow on the Purple Board that was in a position to know about such things and he called Henning out on it. Saying he did not know of any fires at that location that he described. Henning had no response. In fact, he disappeared off the Purple Board for a while after that.
All that being said, I actually liked the guy.

just clicked on above link re slips omg that guy had like 40k posts no way he could have done a lot of the things he said he did. would not have of had the time. I do know of a guy who fits the profile somewhat. and I would guess he is a long time member of poa with a very low post count. some people after 60 or 70 years of living can have a amazingly large and diverse list of things done and a large percentage of the stories are true. that said I don't think that type of personality would be on the computer that much ,as I stated above

Henning was great entertainment, and I'm not entirely sure that wasn't his intent (though I did not know him personally).
Apparently he rubbed some folks the wrong way who took him too seriously, and I believe he was banned from PoA.

I think we all have stories that some other people would not believe. I know I have a few entertaining ones or at least I think they are. Henning on the other hand, had too damn many. Some were probably true and others probably had at least an inkling of truth but there is no way I am believing all of them. Either way, he could spin a yarn.
