Final Approach
The Solicitation of Sex thread made me think of Henning...
I didn't read that thread. Did it involve Collinite Insulator Wax?
The Solicitation of Sex thread made me think of Henning...
You lust for Henning?
I'll say it again...
For me he crossed a line when he posted this after the tragic accident in the Alps caused by a suicidal copilot:
"Oh, I can, no worries. If I ever commit suicide, I plan to take way more."
When called out on that, he responded:
"Nope, if I'm committing suicide, God is in no laughing mood, I'd be doing the people a favor with a quick painless death while screwing myself."
Did he mean that? Was it a morbid joke? Or a sign of a disturbed mind that might actually be flying passengers for higher with thoughts like that rattling around?
I put him on ignore after that. In my opinion the site is better off without him.
As an aside, I remember where I was when I read those posts, and the feeling of outrage they caused. If the goal of a troll is just to get a rise out of people, in this case he succeeded.
We've had offers over on our other colored board, but we not only said no, but HELL no!
Not at all surprised that you've had offers, and absolutely not surprised that they've fallen on deaf ears. Good folks do good things!
Didn't see it in the exhaustive list that was provided earlier but he got rides in AF T-37 & T-38 aircraft as well.

Thank you for sharing.
Very sad story Norman, sorry to hear that.
I think Henning was dead serious though. He wasn't emotively suicidal, what he expressed was philosophical nihilism. It was a logical outworking of his perception of reality. Or possibly a philosophy that he intellectually flirted with, and he brought it up to stimulate a reaction that would be bandied about.
I actually think Henning did all or at least most of the things he did. I just don't think he did any of them for very long except his maritime and aviation activities.
I think he's just an adventurous soul who wants to try out as many things as he can during his sojourn on this earth. Maybe he only spent a few days at some of the jobs he held, never intending to do them for a living anyway, but just wanting to see what they were like. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I had it to do all over again, I might just do the same thing.
At first I thought he was nothing but a BS artist. As time went by I think what you've said is closer to the truth, mixed in with some BS for entertainment value. Regardless, even though Henning and I disagree on almost everything he's still an alright guy.
ok what is a purple board?
Had lots of ideas but some not so good after minimal scrutiny.
Someone asked earlier how old Henning is. He had his nautical resume up on his website at one point and based on the birthday on that he should be around 58 or so.
As for the stories. He reminds me a lot of my dad's younger brother who spent much of his early life in commercial shipping / oil services. Later he owned bars, a real estate company and a money changing business. When he and some of his buddies from the oil days on the persian gulf got together, the Henning like stories started to flow. There is a technical term for it (and it is the same in low-german and english): Yarn
Apparently, Henning was at Pearl Harbor when it got attacked...
just clicked on above link re slips omg that guy had like 40k posts no way he could have done a lot of the things he said he did.
Someone needs to step up and be the new Henning
I'll say it again...
Oh, and BTW, he also claimed that Barry Seal offered him a pile of cash to fly some drugs. I did the math and pointed out to Henning that he was only 17 the last year that Barry was in Mena.
We already seem have a leading candidate.
Have you ever owned a goat ranch? are you familiar with sheep?Funny..!!!!
Wait... its not me, is it..???

Impressive list! Not sure how long ago it was that you left, but here's what he's been up to (previously posted in a now closed thread). It's been a while since I've updated this list....
He's still pitching his BS, just on Facebook. Same old, same old...
Boy, that's no lie! And he would totally ignore all the correct answers before his. There was a member (not Henning) who shall not be named who, if there was a question and a dozen correct responses, still had to post his own version of the correct response. Actually there were several members like that but there is one in particular that I don't miss.
That reminds me!Letting facts get in the way of a good story. This is why people won't go to the movies with you.
