Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

Augh!!! I also have "backpack ibuprofen" and "toolbox ibuprofen." Dang.

Same with glasses. A pair for every room.
Recently lost a close friend who was quite a character, and folks were telling stories at his funeral. He would have all the grandkids looking for his glasses while they were on top his head. The funniest part was that the grandkids would show up with like 13 pair.

When my wife and I retired and brought stuff from our offices home, we found we each had an office bottle of antacids and a car bottle of antacids, plus our home kitchen and bathroom bottles.

So here we are enjoying retirement with six bottles of antacids that haven’t been opened since our last day of work. Retirement is good!

Gosh, I wonder why Chinese companies are buying up land next to US military bases. /s

Same experience in retirement! Well, at least after we got the new house finished.

Back in the 80s and 90s, restaurant receipts were often/generally a little tear-off tab at the bottom of the handwritten ticket. The waitress would almost always leave those blank. I’d always grab those no matter where I was or whether it was work related or not. Came in handy for “squaring up” on those odd occasions when I didn’t get a receipt or had some small miscellaneous expense that would be a PITA to file.

Learned that from guys who’d been filing expense reports since the 1950s.

government accountant - a person who would absolutely expect someone managing a team of 30+ people to spend an entire day doing nothing else but trying to unwind a $20 error.

sounds like someone has real world experience with said person.

I have seen the same in the corporate world. Years ago, visiting a customer, the two ladies who oversaw the GL for a multi-billion dollar insurance company, wanted to have the full accounting team come in over a weekend to track down and fix why the GL account was not settling down to zero. The head of treasury asked how much was the error, just short of two bucks was the answer. He took out two bucks from his wallet and said good enough.

I’ll pay the $20 out of my pocket if they take the 240+ man hours off my taxes.
Well, they’d have to refund the 240 hours proportionately across the maybe 2.5 million taxpayers, so using $75/hr to include overhead, everyone gets back a little less than a penny.

Good thing the government is so reluctant to refund money, otherwise they’d spend millions getting those checks out to everyone.

I wouldn’t pay the $20 for that.
