Found this on the purple board, and thought I'd share this...

Oh my G-d I am literally speechless. I mean just speechless. Does that pilot still have his certificate?

Man those Bo's are sturdy birds aren't they?

That video alone is enough to do the pilot(s) in.

Shall we count the ways they were stewpid?

I see two potential reactions for the pilot:

  1. Let me tell you, I once scraped my plane off some bushes. I can fly though anything!
  2. I've officially used up my entire lifetime cache of luck now. I better get some skills
Which of those two the pilot chooses will determine if we see him in an NTSB report someday...

I am wondering if that 530 or 696 was blaring terrain warnings, and for how long.

Holy ****. An incident like that would make me walk away from flying -- because if I did that -- clearly I shouldn't be near an airplane.

Yep, I think I'll show this at my CFI workshop this week. Really impressive example of stupidity.

1 -formation flight with dissimilar aircraft - wonder if they had FFC cards and briefed it properly? Doubt it since they launched in that weather.
2 - scud running
3 - continued flight into IMC.
4 - documenting the event on youtube (though to be honest, this was the videographer, not the pilot, who's probably changing his drawers - "You did WHAT with the video you shot!?!?)"

How much do you want to bet it's #1 or he would not have posted it on YouTube....

I rewatched the video an you can't see the Bo's N number so the FAA may never know unless the guys A&P turns him in.

Whats even more outrageous is that the Bo Pilot had 3 pax on board. The hit must have jarred them because the camera went down.

He's flying like on an average day of work mustering cattle.

;)

Here we are castigating this aviator, when clearly he's a superior IFR Pilot and the rest of us are weenies unable or unwilling to do it the Manly way.

+1 Exactly Dan, just another "kangaroo court" jumping to conclusions about a situation they know nothing about.:rolleyes:
That "talk" is more ridiculous and annoying to see pop up than the actual event you are trying to spoof.

Anyone ever wonder why they have minimum altitudes for IFR flight? Now you know.

Bunch of idiots. I hope someone from the FAA sees that and revokes the pilot's certificates. This also says something about the passengers. Chances are they were non-pilots and just along for the ride. The non-pilot passengers that we take along riding in back just assume we know what we're doing, are being safe, and will get through it fine. They really generally don't understand the potential dangers. A big part of every pilot's responsibility is to be especially careful with those who aren't aware of the dangers involved whose lives we take in our hands. Clearly this guy was not.

There is one point you get a glance of part of the N # of the BO, looks like 659 and two letters, just can't make the letters out.

"sc0rpio79 (1 minute ago) Show Hide Marked as spam Reply An FAA case is in progress. The only one with a license on this plane was the pilot.. the rest of us were there to film our friend in the L-39. "

Wow. Dumb. And probably still more-or-less in formation with the L39. Double-dumb.
But all he did wrong, really, was not zoom in enough on the GPS...

Is it the pilot who posted it? I got the impression it was one of the passengers, or a third party.

Pete,

You do say, afterall, that...

The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
Douglas Adams

This guy has the knack, eh?!?!?! :)

But not quite as ridiculous as when it was first written in that other thread. Then it was serious and ridiculous. Now it is just sarcastic.
Sarcastic can still be ridiculous and annoying.

What was that Dan?
Neat. Glad to see you like to make valuable posts instead of constantly dragging out some sarcastic item in an attempt to annoy someone.
