If he didn't have duct tape with him I am calling this news article a fake. No one could build an airplane with out a few rolls of ductape.

"Neal Armstrong." Good God, Armstrong's name was Neil, an error like that makes the story totally unbelievable.

Who knew that Armstrong's first name was really Neal?

It looks like an old newspaper clipping.
Probably predates correct spelling which was something that was actually invented by Gustave Whitehead.

Well, obviously he didn't invent auto-correct until after he returned from the moon. Duh!

He is turning the world on its head. I just saw this:

Costello: Are you the manager?
Abbott: Yes.
Costello: You gonna be the coach too?
Abbott: Yes.
Costello: And you don't know the fellows' names?
Abbott: Well I should.
Costello: Well then who's on first?
Abbott: Gustave Whitehead

Costello:Cool

I was under the impression George Bush (43) flew the Lunar Module???

What a bunch of bunk.

Everyone knows the moon landings were staged to save face against the Russians.

I thought Al Gore invented it

Word has reached us of the invention of the "need for speed," by Top Gun fighter pilot and inventor Gustave "Goose" Whithead. In homage, famed architect Eiffel (of Tower fame) immediately changed his name to Gustave. The World Fair monstrosity will be known as the Goose Tower until a new and bigger tower can be erected in honor of Whithead, from the top of which Whithead will demonstrate unpowered human flight at a speed of 32'/sec squared. Jealous detractor Sheriff Woody has commented "That won't be flying; that will be falling with style." In other news, Sheriff Woody has been recalled, and is being replaced by Guzz Whiteyear.

obama will be along to point out that the firs man on the moon was made possible by HIS policies on common core education, racial harmony, and workplace diversity.

What a hardon you have for that man

Then early one evening Gustav Whitehead was flying his kite and discovered electricity. Well this just opened up whole new vistas to him. He worked feverishly day and night until he found a way to harness electricity to a distillery for schnapps and immediately he became locally prominent. The heady with success he went about to develop the airplane. Aided only by his faithful assistant one day the fateful day came. They stoked up the boiler on the converted steam engine and launched into the sky. God only knows what came after that. Then one evening while watching his wife hand mending stockings by candle light he proceeded to invent the sewing machine and the electric light. He goes on to invent the cotton gin, dry ice, and the telephone. Gustav kicked off in 1928. Nobody was quite sure if it was the flight, the smoke from the steam engine or the schnapps that did him in.

(apologies to Lily Tomlin)

In addition to his other inventions, Gustav produced the first "Mr Fusion" device as revealed in a series of time travel documentaries initially broadcast in the 1980's.

When G. Whitehead landed on the moon, Brian Williams was there to snag the 1st interview.
