Where does everyone like to go for food while at Oshkosh?

For me, Friar Tuck's is a must do, but really only because it is so convenient to the North 40. It's at the northwest corner of the airport, a short walk from the North 40 shuttle bus.

LaSure's.... across the street and a little north of Friar Tuck's. Nothing fancy, just a tiny cafe with decent food. Good for breakfast.

The spunky monk or whatever it's called.

That's right friar tucks...
I can never remember

We do a bit of everything: off field restaurants, SOS Bros, the joints on the field (primarily for breakfast and lunch), campsite socials, and finally stuff we bring.

Whatever's within walking distance. I try not to stoop to Hardy's. but there's a Mexican place, and a pizzeria and a few other things. I try and bring enough to do lunch at the campsite. Food at he show isn't bad these days, but it still isn't as healthy as the stuff I schlep, and overpriced as well. Can't blame them, but I don't have to pony up either.

That place with really good burgers by where all the spectators sit for the airshow. Forgot the name

This may not be an option for me this year since I won't have a car, but Wendt's On the Lake is a fun place to go. It's on Lake Winnebago about half way to Fon du Lac. Their specialty is fried perch, so don't expect a fine dining experience  But during Oshkosh week it's got lively atmosphere for sure!

Absolute best IMO is Wendt's on the lake.
Fox River Brewing Company in Downtown OSH, along the river, is good as well.

SOS brothers, the Subway at the intersection of Warbirds and Homebuilts, the pizza place near Target, and...

I've heard a couple recommendations for SOS. Is that the place with the bikini beer servers? For some reason my wife vetoed that option last time we were there

Yes, but IMO the scenery ain't nothing to write home about. YMMV.... However, it is a rocking place and my wife and I both enjoy it.

SOS has good food. The brats, fried cheese curds, and fish are among my favorites. The bikini chicks tending bar are a bit shopworn, but the beer is cold, so who cares...

There's a picture on the interweb somewhere of a group of us lowering the SOS balloon at closing time.

Shopworn? Guessing they are in better shape than most of the male patrons ;)

I'm more concerned about where to find frothy beverages than food. Heard about SOS and that the pick n'save sells 6 packs, so hopefully good.

Wendt's on the Lake
Ardy and Ed's
WhiteHouse up in Butte Des Mortes (alraedy mentioned).
Roxy's Supper Club
Lara's Tortilla Flats

Take an Uber to Ardy and Ed's, a little burger/fry/shake joint right on the lake. Delicious.
Ardy and Ed's. The best in Wisconsin fried cuisine. Girls on roller skates. Great chocolate shakes. Right across from a park on the water. Just under the approach for runway 27. What's not to like? :D

Hard to believe you could Uber much of anything in the middle of the Show.
Don't know. I have had Oshkosh cab in my cell phone for years. I've used them during the show with pretty good luck. I've also had locals (back before the Uber days) notice we were standing around waiting for a bus and they walked home and got their car to give us a lift back to the field. I had an Oshkosh city bus that was going out of service decide to take us (her last two passengers) direct to our destination.

Transportation in Oshkosh has never been a problem. The locals are great. I suspect that if Oshkosh has UBER service they are out there humpign.

From "Getting Around at Airventure":

For those driving in or seeking off-site transportation, three areas have been designated as official Uber and Lyft drop off and pickup locations: the Super8/Friar Tuck’s gate, the corner of Foundation Road and Gallatin Avenue near Gate 34, and the S Lot.

We got picked up and dropped off at the Super 8, worked like a charm. Only used it once to get to Ardy and Ed's, but no hassle at all. Planning to do the same this year if necessary.
