Getting ready to swap plugs. They were tested for resistance, cleaned with a brief bead blast straight in so not to blast the threads, re gapped and anti seize applied. I also pick out the rest of the lead and that is a little pile of lead there on the glass. The gaskets were annealed also and put on the plug correctly.

The dog looks unimpressed by your skill....

Neat! I’m looking forward to getting a hangar so I can outfit with equipment to do this stuff.

I love my hangar, so does my wife. She loves when I am at the hangar so she can do her thing at home. The hangar helps our marriage. The dog is useless, my wife likes when I take him to the hangar so he is not begging her for treats all day.

Flew from Chicago to Hilton Head SC today. Wasn't a single cloud from Chicago to halfway through Georgia.

Refueled at KFGU. Don't think I've ever seen a runway with that kind of slope before! Scenic though.

Well in that case I'll see you on the return trip! I'll stop in! Nice little airport you got there :)

After last night's flight I finally got my log book caught up. I log my flights every few days but only total the pages every few months. I figured I was over 1400. Almost 1450 mostly in my 172. I have approx 40 hrs in a cherokee and 9 in a arrow and 6 in a 182. Got to practice more in this 172 before I can move up.

Mountains in New Mexico said “NOPE!! You’re not going to California today!!!”

Man, not even April and already looking like monsoon season.

We are getting a lot of summer looking Cumulus clouds already. And still getting snow. But this week we are finally getting a few days in the lower 60s.!!

:happydance:

Here are some photos I took before the FSK Bridge was destroyed earlier this week. Sad to see how fast it went down after serving so well for so many decades. Well, we will rebuild it and hopefully learn from this horrific accident. MM

After 7 months, my rebuilt O-360 engine was delivered to my mechanic. Now I need the weather to improve enough to fly my plane to his place with the old engine and swap the new for the old. LyCon promised to get it done in 6-8 months. The new engine build was finished after 6-1/2 months. The rest of the time was consumed in Dyno testing and shipping. The rebuilt engine produces 203 peak horsepower on the Dyno! WooHoo! I'm a happy customer!

The cloud line was perfectly straight today as it moved east. On one side it was doom and gloom with ceilings at 1500, the other side was all rainbows and unicorns. Pure CAVU.

Couldn't resist climbing to 6500, 3k+ above the tops and enjoyed the fluffy view over the cloud deck. Also a nice haze layer around 4k, and perfectly clear below.
