One night this past week, that is the Buck moon I believe. Love these quiet nights after flying.

1,100 overcast. Had to fly up to Burlington to hang a right and fly the 20 miles up the valley to Concrete at 500' agl along the river and farmers' fields. But, a half hour after I get there, it starts breaking up.

Nice day at the Concrete Fly-In!

This Ryan SC showed up on the ramp. Must've came in while I was not paying attention. Absolutely stunning aircraft!

Too hot to fly this weekend. We were pushing 100 degrees today. DA of over 8,000 ft. I'm staying at home by the lake :)

That is the ferry terminal in the Gastineau Channel in Juneau.

We picked up the tourists from there as well as the cruise ship terminal and drove them to the airport for air tours of Glacier Bay and the Juneau Ice Cap.

Those were the good old days...

The forecast was “clear skies”… well it was above the layer of clouds.

Curious, where was this? I like the hills to the side.
... and I'd feel pretty fancy taking off in front of my house
Judging from his other video, I suspect its somewhere along the Ohio River, between Louisville and Cincinatti.

Yes that is along the Ohio river. That is 8I1 robinson. It is sw of Vevey Ind. I took off on 9 and you do fly through some front yards. The grass was high, the temp was 90°f and I had 3/4 full tanks. So it took a lot more runway than in the winter time.

This another crappy video of 64I near Madison Ind. It was almost dark, first time in a couple years I used my gopro. It was hot out so I was flying late, but it still wasn't that cool but it was smooth out. Need a auto lenses washer if I am going to use it down there. Next I am going to turn it around backwards and that will take care of keeping the lens clean.
Those are Dresser "monster" retreads tires on the mains. They are on goodyear flight II casings. They have 11/16 deep tread which makes them a little taller and heavier. I didn't like the heavy part until learned how much better they land than my old airhawk tires. They absorbs the bumps better. Recommend them.
