My buddy mentioned to me last week one day it was 40 years ago that day that he took his first flight lesson. I can't remember last year...View attachment 108922
Thirty years ago today I slipped the surly bonds and soloed in a Piper PA28-151. Two T&G's and a full stop on 10L at KBOI. To celebrate I flew into Boise and added one more T&G on 10L...
No kidding and I actually live in his city!Dayum Bill, thanks for the invite!
Are the engine covers part of your shutdown or for the rain?Plane at the ramp at HGI @KOSH right after I parked it.

...and 5 min later when the skies really opened up. I think I was the last airplane in on Saturday PM

Seems like you're one of the few. I'm always amused to walk across a ramp and hear the jet engines clunking away in the breeze.I put them on every time I park the plane. You really don't want any animals or stuff getting in the engines...
I saw you on the ramp. Wish I knew it was you!Plane at the ramp at HGI @KOSH right after I parked it.

On the big jets they’re much harder to put on because the engines are way up there. The engines on the mustang are at head level for me so there really isn’t much excuse to not put them on unless it’s a quick fuel/lunch stop or something. But if I’m parking overnight, I put the covers on.

Money. Lots and lots of money.what’s the trick to getting a room there for airventure ?
We want to go next year, but camping is not an option for this kid…

Sounds like you're their ideal candidate lol. @RudyP will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're around $700/night and sell out as soon as they open reservations, which was probably earlier this week.LOL ice cold a/c, a comfy bed, and not having to use a timer when I shower are definitely worth lots and lots of money to me.
How far in advance did you have to book your room?I’ll be there again next year in the same spot!
