There are a number of reasons I don't own a Cub.

I flew Gaston’s to KC last Sunday and found 95kts over the ground at many altitudes. I was in a Piper Arrow and ended up low enough to find 105 without the turbulence shaking the plane apart.

I forgot to mention, the river was flooding in this picture. Below shows 13 f at 5 in the afternoon. When I took off that morning it was 5f. I froze that day. Didn’t have enough clothes on.

I took a flight after work tonight. Followed the river to a 1700' turf landing strip.

Then went down the river farther and landed at my home turf airport, Leebottom. I go there many times each year. We camp there with our RV also.

Then back to my airport for 5 T&Gs in the dark. 1.9 hrs tonight.

Flew the family from our home base in Panama City to Mobile to spend a day at the USS Alabama battleship museum. You can see the ship here in the picture my wife took while I was entering left base for 18 at KBFM. Fun day and beautiful weather.

After a week of no flying, because of weather and needing to go get my RV-8 finishing kit on the one day it didn't rain (500 mi round trip), I finally got to go up this morning.

Downtown hasn't flooded yet. But, a couple of farms are under water in the Clear Lake area. :-(

Made a trip to Dayton today to make sure my mags were fixed. I knew the USAF museum was a big deal, but holy crap... it's 10X what I was expecting. I just scratched the surface. Need to spend a couple days there.

@wayne and I flew in to see the battleship in Mobile, maybe we should organize a long weekend in Dayton sometime and tour the museum.

My wife and I went there a few years ago, right before they were to open a new building. So it might have been close to 10 years ago? We must go back and see it again. Like you said you can't see it all in one day. We are lucky to have it nearby.

Was safety pilot today into C09. Ended up having LIFR conditions with low tops, so we got a pop-up so we don’t have to mess with cloud clearances. MDA ended up being right at the tops with a giant hole right over the airport!

Operation Good Cheer. Hundreds of planes and volunteer trucks alike delivered gifts For Michigan foster care kids Saturday. This was my second time doing it and hope to make it an annual thing I participate in.

I took a early morning flight yesterday morning and watched the sun come up.

Local ski resort trying to make snow, it hasn't been that cold yet. Last nights and today rain will melt most of it.

It was calm on the ground and 40 kts of wind out of the east at 2600'.
