I'm with Tim. I saw about 145 in the DA40XLS which I have about 50 hrs in. And then about 300 hrs in new 182s. about 146 in the non turbos, and about 158 in the turbos.

Ouch! $50 for a pilot certificate?

ahhh yes... so... would we then be required to carry with us a SEPARATE govt issued photo id?

Ouch! $50 for a pilot certificate?

well that would be a federally issued govt photo ID... so i'm for it. not for the $50, but really... it's not that painful.... $50 every 8 years... I think I'll live.. but yes, its the principle i'm with ya

Turned Down money and Multi Time yesterday

that's not something i can do. if i commit to someone, I'm not gonna just bail on them at the last minute. Yes I much prefer kingair to apache, but that's just not very professional.

Turned Down money and Multi Time yesterday

when you say the clicking starter... let me explain that it was a rusty starter that would not disengage from the prop. the only clicking was when i turned it through by hand. the rust was all over the starter and the gear on the prop the starter moves (i forget what its called)... the...

Turned Down money and Multi Time yesterday

So yesterday I went out to DFW to pick up the owner of a new Apache. We drove to a local airport, and viewed the plane he was paying me to fly to New Jersey. (my favorite place right?... hahaha) So I'm looking the plane over... It seems to have been a ramp queen for a few years. Rust in all...

    Logging Time

Sorry to disappoint, but your second point is incorrect. You are right about the difference in Logging vs Acting PIC. Safety pilots must be appropriately RATED in the aircraft. This has nothing to do with the endorsements... He may log PIC but not ACT as PIC for that time he is a safety...

So, do you tip? Who and how much?

I agreee with that... you know it when you see it. See, I would say airing the tires does count as above and beyond (unless the FBO charges you for it). But to each his own.... Sometimes an FBO guy will drive me to the hotel, which he is not required to do... When I had an emergency, and...

So, do you tip? Who and how much?

I don't generally tip unless it's "above and beyond"... I would agree shoveling snow is tipworthy. One guy helped me manually deice my plane, and that was worthy. Just fueling me up and cleaning my windshield seems like just good service. I always am very appreciative, but i dont consider...

Dallas pilots: breakfast tomorrow at KSLR?

you'll see the white lines on the side of the taxiway indicating the 'beginning' and end of the 'runway'... go ahead and use them as the runway for landing, b/c u might not see the barricades from the air. however when u taxi out for takeoff, you can taxi all the way to the barricades and...

Dallas pilots: breakfast tomorrow at KSLR?

i landed there the other day... there's plenty more than 2500 feet available... its more like 3500... a baron should have no problem. i was there the other day in a bonanza... which isnt a baron of course, but it's only notamed that way for legal reasons....
