    Logging PIC with no BFR

Absolutely correct. However...unless he is wearing a vision restricting device, you cannot log PIC time, despite the fact you'll be acting as PIC.

    Flytenow Hearing

You see, if the FAA simply issued an NPRM with actual regulatory language, these types of things could be hashed out as part of the notice-and-comment rulemaking process that the APA mandates. Instead, they prefer to avoid messy "comments" by issuing interpretative letters.

    Flytenow Hearing

So, are you saying that a bulletin board in a really busy place might be illegal, but a low traffic location is cool? So now, the regulation (without using actual words) says "you can't hold out to lots of people" with "lots" being wholly undefined (as well as not ACTUALLY appearing in the...

    Flytenow Hearing

Interesting...an advisory circular is not regulatory, and the other one applies to cargo and tour operators. The issue with FlyteNow is that the FAA is trying to impose regulatory burdens on people through non-regulatory processes, like Chief Counsel interpretations or Advisory Circulars...

    PBOR2 .. cleared for takeoff?!

However, the way it's worded, the FAA has 180 days to issue regulations to comply, and if they don't, any enforcement actions taken based upon their non-updated regulations will be null and void.

    Should I grow pot?

Been reviewed and decided by the Supreme Court. Gonzalez v. Ranch was about someone in CA growing MJ for their own personal use (non-commercial) pursuant to a license issued by CA for medicinal use. It was held that Congress' power under the Commerce Clause was enough to authorize the...

    Should I grow pot?

Everyone. State law does not overrule federal law.

    Should I grow pot?

That's a much safer business, legally speaking. Worst case, a new AG federally changes course and starts enforcing federal law, and your business drop off. If you're in the grow business, your business drops off, you get arrested, and all your assets get seized as proceeds of a drug...

    Should I grow pot?

No, it's not. The fact that the law is not being enforced does not make something legal. Here's what the Supreme Court had to say about someone growing pot, even for their own use, with a license from the State of California: https://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/03-1454.ZS.html

Past DUI and 3rd Class Medical

Yep, that's the long and the short of it. Over .15 is evidence of tollerance, which is evidence of long term use. The HIMS protocol is basically you demonstrating zero use. That means stuff like AA, and it means peeing in a cup on demand for a while. The other issue you may run into is...

why full stop at take off and land once Solo?

So did I, but I'll admit, not on my "first solo" flight. They were all stop and taxi back. Great thing about the airport I trained out of was 9,000' runways (we went to a smaller airport for first solo), so I had plenty of room for Stop and Gos, which are great for night currency.
