Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

The most challenging thing about switching from DST back to standard time isn't resetting all the clocks and watches. It's convincing a very hungry 100lb Doberman that it isn't dinner time yet without losing an arm.
Yeah, my cats still haven't figured out something has changed.

They not only have sharp teeth, they have sharp claws, and know how to use them on my leg to get my attention.

I’m not saying the customer service at Wells Fargo is bad, but the last time I requested a balance check their clerk reached over and shoved me.
Hey, now. I used to work* for Wells Fargo. In fact, I left Wells Fargo as a retiree** with over 17 years of service.

And I approve this message.

* in IT, working remotely the entire time, so the people at the local offices and retail branches had no idea who I was.

** and went to work for an even worse bank…

Same issue with my cat re: time change.

And unrelated to the "spring forward, fall back" subject, but for my last two cats I learned to trim their nails and now do it often. Huge quality of life improvement overall in my opinion.

Hey, I had 5 or 6 accounts with Wells Fargo!

Of course I didn't personally open them, but still...

Nauga,
and his fair use disclaimer

How do you trim their claws.??

I suffer significant blood loss just flossing my cats teeth...
While I'm sure chloroform may help, I tend to avoid @Half Fast's advice and do it sans chemical assistance.

Maybe I have been lucky with my past two cats as they are very tolerant overall. But I sit them in my lap, as pictured, like a little child, paws facing outward. Then just smush the paw as required for best access to the claws and trim gently, carefully leaving buffer area before getting to the pink part within each claw. I typically just clip the claws that have grown to the very sharp 'hook' and generally don't need to do all of them each time.

Heh - we took one of our cats to the vet and there was something, maybe a blood draw, that needed to be done. The assistant took the cat in the back room while the vet and I talked. Eventually he said, “what’s taking so long?”, and he went into the back room. He returned a few seconds later with the cat and said, “you just have to show them who’s boss”, and imagined all the carnage that cat unleashed on the techs back there.

I’ve had good luck with getting onto the floor and straddling the cat with my knees on either side, then do similar to pop out the pointies in those murder mittens. Follow it with a treat and they don’t seem to fight so badly.

I find it easiest not to have a cat. No claws. No box of poop. No hair all over my stuff. It’s glorious.

Outside cats are fun. I like those.
Neighbors' cats are more fun. We have a couple who visit us--Black Kitty and Striped Kitty. We have NEVER fed them, though in the past we did have a water bowl. We NEVER let them in the house. They come to the slider and meow. If we see them, we go outside, give 'em some pets and that's it. Personally, I think they're getting the okay to hunt in our territory.

Whiskers comes to see us often. We only get to pet him when we visit his family. Our yard is part of his hunting area.

I highly recommend a leather welding jacket and gloves.
Youngest daughter (didn't live at home any more) walks in, "Dad I need some help."
A security guard where she worked had caught a kitten that was born under the trash compactor and had given it to her.
The kitten was under the passenger seat of her car and was not inclined to come out. Probably better described as a hissing ball of teeth, claws, and fur than as a kitten.
The wife asks "Should I get some gloves out of your shop?"
"Yes, please." Expecting her to come back with my welding gloves.
She comes back with some thin Nitrile gloves.
Great.
But, I noticed that each time I came close, the kitten would back up a few inches. After a few rounds, I was able to grab him from behind. And, once caught, settled down. He went into a carrier for the ride to her apartment.

And, no. This was not the first time she showed up with a cat...
