The first part of my new engine arrived yesterday:

Kind of ironic it'd be that one (the one that has backed out twice). Lycoming wants $100 for that plug, so i found a used one. Accessory case is scheduled to arrive today, so I'm moving in the right direction finally. Still a couple weeks away from the big meaningful parts coming back.
Went through every applicable service instruction, letter, and bulletin and consolidated them into a book with the parts manual. Made an assembly checklist based on one my ia gave me from when he used to work in the u of i engine shop. That involved reading the overhaul manual twice to make sure i got everything right. Preparing a new logbook now.
Also started 3d printing some blanking plates for painting. Hopefully going to make this one as pretty as the old one, but different.
All the parts are ordered with the exception of bearings and valve train parts, in case there are any surprises from the machine shop.
Still haven't been able to speak with a lawyer.
