I present three "aircraft"; would you fly any of them?

:50 = flying jetpack
3:11 = some kind of homemade (?) helicopter
6:20 = ?????

Chuck would have done it.

Yeager or Norris, take your pick.

Heck no. The jet pack thing looks pretty cool though.

Jet pack. That would be fun.

I would have to wear a diaper.

Looks like someone found the back pages of an old popular mechanics magazine.

Ahh, there is always someone out there who can look at a shopping cart and go:

"What this thing really needs is contra-rotating propellers!"

Nope. Nope. No f***ing way!!!

What could go wrong standing on a rickety platform over to rapidly spinning propellers? It's not really dangerous until you add the beer....

Jetpack, heck yeah! Shouldn't we all be going to work that way? The other two, not so much.

The helicopter and the other thingy don't seem to be able to fly up out of their own ground effect.

That last one seems to me to be a redneck version of the Hiller VZ-1

In the mood I am in this evening I will fly anything.....just show me how to turn it on...:)

Jet Pack - Over water, yep.
Homemade Heli - Sure, but I wouldn't get too far off the ground.
Contra-Rotating Power Trowel of Death - Sure. Looks plenty safe o_O

The Red Navy submarine and the tractor from hell both looked more interesting than any of the flying contraptions . . . they were just scary!

It appears to me the guy flying the helicopter has had a lot of stick time in rotorcraft. He is always in control, when the heli exhibits some instability he gathers it up and resumes controlled flight.

The flying contraption is a accident waiting to happen. With all of the mass above the rotor disc it must be really unstable.

Compare that to a typical light helicopter, where the disc is above the mass and the pendulum effect is somewhat self stabilizing,

I say "somewhat" because I recall my attempts at hovering IGE. :D
