Worst Christmas Movie

Question: Is the trek where they go through the deep snow for a Christmas Tree shown on TV? For some reason I don't remember seeing that scene.

Yes, every time that I've seen it. It's the second scene, after the road trip with road rage there and getting stuck under a truck.

"Dad, did you bring a saw?"

I like when they get the tree home and the neighbors confront him.

"Hey Griswold, where do you think you're going to put a tree that big?"
"Bend over and I'll show ya."

That's why I don't watch 'real' TV anymore. Pick and chose what I want, DVR, stream, or put it on the hard drive in some <ahem> manner. Everything in moderation, so I actually still like most of what's been mentioned.

And for pseudo-Christmas movies, I vote for Donovan's Reef. I'm a sucker for crappy later movies by The Duke.

Bad Santa is on my list. Love that movie. Fred clause is pretty horrible. Christmas with the ranks was bad. Also I'll throw the grinch as one of the worst.

Four Christmases sucked dirt, even with Vince Vaughn.

Starwars Christmas Special. ( a must see ) Not really a movie but one really lousy show. The studio destroyed their copies. All that exists are VCR copies on YouTube.

I actually remember watching that one!

You can still find copies on YouTube (albeit from the hideous VCR dubs no doubt).

Not a movie, but a book I didn't know existed until yesterday. Stacked under a sign that read "Holiday Classics".

I've tried to watch A Christmas Story several times. Everyone keeps telling me how great it is. I guess it's like Monty Python to me, just not my thing.

But the worst has to be the Mariah Carey youtube video of her at RC. Whoo, that's a stinker.

I do still enjoy A Charlie Brown Christmas and ...what's that show..."No money, no tickets!"...oh yeah, Frosty.

A Christmas Story is like Groundhog Day. You have to watch it three or four times before you suspension of disbelief kicks in and it become LOLROF.

My wife is a fan of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" although I can't for the life of me understand why.

I've never been a Charlie Brown fan, but this one goes to new levels of depressing. He has no friends, the kids belittle him constantly and he spends most of the show whining about his miserable life. Good God, just kill me. Even the music is depressing.

And now, it's my 7yr olds new favorite. Ugh.

"Christmas in Connecticut" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" are both fun.

Do the first two of the Diehard series count as Christmas movies?

Anyone see "Santa's Slay" starring Goldberg?

Definitely a candidate for worst movie ever, let alone Christmas movie.

If you're going to count them you might as well count the Lord of the Rings movies, as well as the Hobbit films. We've been going to see those on Christmas Eve for years.

I can't stand any of the Christmas movies. I've had Mexican desserts that weren't so syrupy sweet. Sorry, different cultural perspective.

WORST EVER - Hooray For Santa Claus!

I don't think you can even find it on video, much less dvd.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

2.5 on IMDB. :D

With a 10-y/o Pia Zadora, too. :vomit: On pretty much everyone's list of all-time worst films of any genre, not just SF or holiday films. Interesting thing is the people who made it truly believed it would become a Christmas classic and be rescreened year after year at Christmas time. One can only wonder how long their brains were deprived of oxygen in some prior accident.

heh - went to the local community melodrama theater last night for their production of "Santa Conquers the Martians or Claus Encounters ofthe Third Kind"

The funniest part othe show was that they included some of the asides straight out of the MST3K version. My daughter and I had just seen it recently enough that we caught the jokes that a lot of others missed.
