Still waiting for word on whether I'll have rebuildable cylinders. Anyone else grounded?
My engine handgrenaded in flight in September. The FAA still hasn't released the airframe to me. I'm waiting to hear on the cause of the engine (They sent it to Continental for tear down). Continental did say they'd credit me half the core charge on the engine.
Out of curiosity, how low were your comps?
Really? They can't fit you in for a simple static and xpdr check? That sucks.Annual signed off Nov.1st with no problems, but waiting for static/transponder checks. My mistake - I forgot that they were due, and my avionics guy is booked solid with ADS-B installs.
Repairing an engine cylinder that burns oil, a constant-speed prop that leaks oil, and changing what's left of the oil.
Also, a few minor squawks that don't involve oil.
holey....moley....
Picked mine up Monday after a phase 2,3 and D inspection. Loaded the boys to fly to the beach, everything normal except the gear won't retract! Return to the field and after a couple hour delay, everything's good and still made it down in time for dinner!
Agreed. Had a gear problem on the way to the beach, pumped it down, landed, enjoyed the weekend. If you are going to have a gear problem, that's the one to have..!!!
Much better stuck down than up!!If you are going to have a gear problem, that's the one to have..!!!
