What is your favorite Audio Panel?

Whichever one connects my headset to the comm radios and to each other. That’s it. I can’t stand music in flight. I don’t like phone calls on the ground as it is, and definitely won’t be on the phone during flight.

I don’t listen to music when flying. But connecting audio panel to phone to get IFR clearances is a valuable feature for me.

A full featured audio panel only comes into play when you carry passengers. If it's always just you except for that one time every other year when there's a CFI in the right seat, pretty much anything that sounds decent will do.

PS 450 is the gold standard. I have the 450A. I don't use all the features....cause I have a hearing loss in my right ear which makes the 3D thing not work for me. But, the unit is great.

the PS Ausio 450B is an absolutely great audio panel and the one I would put in. The only time I would go with the Garmin is if you are short on panel space and put in the GMA35 remote option to save panel space.

It's still worth having Bluetooth to tie to your iPad so you can get the voice alerts from ForeFlight.

PMA 450 in a heartbeat. Agree with all that isolate button is a key feature. Also don't need a BT headset, has a USB C charger port, tons of other features. All the rest of panel is Garmin, no issues compatibility wise.
I did the same thing with my panel.

All Garmin, except a PS Engineering 450B. LOVE it

I do listen to music (SXM for weather and music).

But the phone connected to audio panel or headset for IFR clearances is worth a LOT.

Looking inside, there's row upon row of little orange capacitors. On the 7000 - all solid state.
capacitors aren't solid state?

The price differences among the audio panels themselves is pretty small. Hard to go wrong with any of the PS Engineering 8000 or 450B, or the Garmin 345/350.

Little orange blobs sticking up off the board. Technology improvements means different widgets. I’ll take a photo of the old board when I have time. They ain’t resistors, that’s for sure, but it’s been decades since I took. Elect Eng1 in college.

Perhaps you meant SMT vs through-hole?

I always liked the user interface of the KMA20. You know what's going on, the toggles tell you. No frills.

No bluetooth though. :P
