Looks like an ANR box for a headset.

Would it be used in conjunction with a hand held radio and a head set?

Actually now that I look at it, it appears to be a single prong cell phone/blue tooth type adapter.

nope my blue tooth doesn't see it.

but it does hook up to the hand held with the head set adaptor.

Thanks for the suggestion.

For clarity, some headsets have an external battery box that the power cord on the headset plugs into. I have two DRE headsets that need a box like that which contains two 9 volt batteries.

Now to figure out if it is any good.:)

I have something similar for a David Clark headset. But it has no "Auto" position and it does have an "Off"

Must be an experimental part... no P/N, S/N or ICA.

I have one but it's branded differently. I think I got it from My Pilot Store.

I have one exactly like it. Powers Aircraft Spruce ANR's. You'll find on means on, auto means off.

Thanks guy & gals, I tried it today with my old RST head set, it doesn't make a difference on or auto.

On auto, it should detect if the cords are plugged in and the intercom system is turned on, in which case it will turn it on. On should keep it on regardless. If on doesn't result in the ANR kicking in, then it isn't compatible with your headset. Or the battery is shot.

There is no intercom in the system, just my hand held icon radio, head set adaptor, head set.and this box.
When listening to NUW's chatter it makes no difference if the little box is connected or not. ( it has a new 9V battery installed) The RST works with all other radios, if that means anything.

It's actually a Flux Capacitor... it eliminates the effects of gravity when activated, thus creating unlimited lift, and range... the only limit is the time the battery has enough power... not allowed in aircraft with student pilots...
