What do you believe is flying over New Jersey?

Nope. And it doesn’t make much sense that their purpose is nefarious, given their use of lights and apparent adherence to drone altitude restrictions.
The only rule I can think of is having a line of sight, but they could just be on a nearby hill(I don't think there are any actual hills in most of New Jersey), or a tall building. Their intentions definitely don't seem malicious though.

All the hair spray has torn a hole in the ozone layer (again)

Every video I have seen has looked like a 737 or super sped up ring doorbell footage so it looks like lights are zipping through the sky.

Some New Jersey newspaper posted 10 photos of the Coast Guards supposed "drones" that were "following" their boat the other night. All of them airlines except for a Cabri G2 helicopter verified with Flight Radar. People are losing their minds over normal air traffic.

911: Hello. What is your emergency?

Me: I want to report a UFO sighting.

911: Do you know what it is?

Me: If I did, it wouldn't be a UFO, now would it?

Drones over a certain weight need the drone version of ADSB. If they were squawking, we should be able to ID them, no? If not, they're operating illegally.
Do we need an “expert “ to determine that the drone weighs more than the minimum? Once identified we’d know what they weigh

The people who are confusing real aircraft for these supposed mysterious drones should be identified and have their names forwarded to whoever runs those robocall lists. People that gullible will be quick to throw money, so they might as well serve a useful purpose to someone.

My question is where is Huntress? NORAD is supposed to see June bugs down to the ground. Why can't they see an SUV-sized object?

A few years ago in central Nebraska we were experiencing the same thing. Facebook was on fire with sightings. It was shortly after the Colorado sightings. Nothing became of it. I think when people look up expecting to see something they usually do and see all kids of things that are easily explainable.

They would. That's why SUV-sized drone claims are ridiculous.
The people making the claims of SUV-sized drones are the same types who “done seen that l’il Piper Cub stall and go right into a nosedive” or assert that vapes surrounding an F-22 on a high-speed pass mean it’s supersonic.

"USNORTHCOM conducted a deliberate analysis of the events, in consultation with other military organizations and interagency partners... at this time we have not been requested to assist with these events."

That's one of the stupidest statements I've ever read. big.gov is truly out of control.

Or there's Occam's razor, it's just airplanes.
If it was you in that airplane, how long would it take for the government to identify you?

Either the government knows what is going on and doesn't want to tell us,
or the government doesn't know what's going on and doesn't know what to tell us.

Either way it ain't good. Even if the "things" are harmless, it's not good that the government seems to be so stymied. UNLESS, they are a secret government project designed to f..k with the enemy.

Identify how? Obviously ADSB shows up, but when random NJ citizen calls the police, how do you tie that report to an ADSB overflight? Is the 911 operator going to jump on Flightaware? Does the person calling have a clue how to report a position?
All the pics I've seen have position and landing lights.

There's this new thing called RADAR. Unless you can stay airborne for a really long time and fly out of radar range, they can tell where you land.
And if they are drones that are not emitting remote ID, they can be disabled and recovered.

And if our national defense depends on citizens calling 911, then we are really in trouble.

You're missing my point. A GA or Commercial aircraft obviously shows up on Radar. Random people are saying there are drones. If they are just regular planes, there's nothing for the government to report. Once folks get hysterical about it, every moving light in the sky is an evil drone. I'm just saying once this gets started, it snowballs into a giant thing.

I can't tell you how many people have asked me about the mysterious lights in the sky going up and down the coast north of DAB. When I explain it's the puppy mills getting night stuff done, they have no idea.

My chart shows a east coast low control area zipper line, we got the magenta ADIZ 12 miles plus some extra around NJ, we got Warning area10X out the kazoo, we got comm seaborne traffic going in and out of 5 major ports there, we got radar, we got navy, and air force, and the CG. You mean, with all this **** we got around NJ, the fedguv can't identify and report what the stuff in the sky is? Or - are they ****ing on our heads and tell us it's raining out(it really is raining out, but not the point)?

In NJ back in the 1970s, everybody was in an uproar over mysterious "airquakes" people were hearing, sounding like distant explosions. I think it was a couple of years later it came out that it was sonic booms from military aircraft flying offshore.

"Look, a UFO! Quick, go get my crappiest camera!"

So... We are the enemy?

Happening off the Oregon/Washington coast now as well.

Call me crazy, but all the videos I've seen online are one of two things, clearly manipulated amateur CGI or clearly airline and large corporate aircraft with their landing lights on.

If drones or other aircraft were trying to do something nefarious at night, and didn’t want their presence and purpose to be known, I seriously doubt they’d have their lights turned on.

OTOH, much of the info from government officials is shuck and jive and some of what I’ve read from think-tank “experts” is laughable. We have night vision equipment that can image and track these things quite easily. I doubt there’s any real mystery here.

There is no evidence that reported drone sightings in New Jersey pose a national security or public safety threat, White House national security communications advisor John Kirby said on Thursday.

During a press briefing in Washington, D.C., Kirby said the drones, which have caused residents continued frustration and worry for weeks, told reporters Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local and state law enforcement have used numerous "very sophisticated" detection methods to better understand their origin.

Kirby said they have been unable to corroborate any of the reported visual sightings.

"To the contrary, upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully," Kirby said, adding that there are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted airspace.

Later on Thursday, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security issued a similar statement on the reported sightings being airplanes.

Hummmm ...

"Kirby said the sightings “highlight a gap in authority,” and urged Congress pass legislation to expand counter-drone authority that would help better identify and mitigate any potential threats."

:yikes:

Here's one of the "mystery" drones copied from today's main article on Fox News. Suspect one of the Heli pilots on POA can pick the exact model. Picture1.jpg

One reason I'm harping on this one as a bit of a panic is some of the "solutions" being bandied about on the news. Was listening this morning to a reporter that was shocked that local police "didn't know what was going on in their airspace". Can you imagine the consequences if local police somehow have a role in that? Panic causes lousy regulations.
