Weak Runway

We had something similar happen here once. Got a new runway out of it.

That runway looked like a leaf blower would have damaged it.

The interview with the airport manager turned into, "It was patches that ripped up that were going to be replaced later in May, and it was all inspected..."

He's going to make sure the cheap patch job was someone else's fault... the inspectors I suppose.

Last night a commenter said, 'Please remove my video which I have all rights to,' or some such.
So I made a copy. Not sure why, or what I can do with it.

Was the initial video the one from the BBC ? It had an interview with some airport buerocrat who while wearing his snazzy high-viz vest assured the public that 'the runway was inspected' and that this was some kind of act of god. They also had some close-up footage of the runway and it looked like someone had paved it over with a thin overlay which had deteriorated and crocodile cracked.

Correct. I guess they didn't have permission to use the footage in their report. Runway looked like crap though in the close ups.

Way back when the first brought the Concorde into Oshkosh they had to do extensive work to 36 to accommodate it. It was feared that it would blow chunks of concrete like that when it took off. That came in handy I guess when the Harriers started showing up.
