well the plane I am buying qualifies for Vintage parking at Osh Kosh. Would you do that or park in the north 40 as usual? The air show view from vintage is pretty good but afraid of poor shower access and missing out on the n40 comraderie.

Depending on what day your going the decision may come down to which one has open spots

We always get there on Saturday. Never an issue.

I think I'd do N40, but it is a hell of a walk to get to "the show". Vintage seems pretty dead, camping wise. I've done both.

But join the dark side. Buy an experimental. The location ain't great, but the company is.

North 40 is the plaice to be,

Sounds like you've done the North 40 before? If so, maybe just give Vintage a try. It's certainly more convenient to everything else. People say good things about the shower trailer (which I think is of similar quality to the one up near the Hilton, or the new main shower building for the North 40).

The only drawback is that there'll be more people walking past your tent.

We call that area down south, Green Acres (Fond du Lac was already taken for the south end of Vintage). It was a bit rough the first year, but last year it is getting better and hopefully even so this year. The problem was that it takes several years of rolling it and using it for something other than a corn/hayfield (which is what it was) to get the ground smooth enough to be practical. That area also has severe drainage problems, a good chunk was underwater in the past. But this is part of the EAA's stated goal to not turn away planes by 2020.

Frankly, Vintage is a great place. You're right in the center of the show (the show center line is about 30 feet past the north end of vintage). As a "showplane" (which is what you are if you're eligible to park in Vintage) and a Vintage member, they'll also give you a souvenir beer mug and a plaque with a picture of your plane. About the only downside is that the PA speakers run through most of Vintage so you'll get the yodeller and the inane airshow announcers jabber.

It going to be nice and quiet down there; the wind blowing through the corn, cows mooing and the rumble of Milwaukee traffic. :D

I would go Vintage given the option. As others have said, the location is perfect. I like watching the ultralights fly so it's a heck of a hike from exp camping to fun fly zone.
