So here's something crazy - the Church of England just appointed their first female bishop in 1400 years!

Now I'm wondering if I should or shouldn't look for more jokes that have numbers in them...

Still not as controversial as when they anointed a patron saint of dentistry.

Zerohedge, which is correct from time to time, reports an anti drone laser defense system in the future…around Washington DC. Someone please help me find an anti anti drone defense system for my skylane. I’d hate to have my SFRA flight end suddenly

Your eggs have an expiration date of 4/6. It’s 4/6. Do you eat them?
Yes, but I'd cook them first.

The more important question is this: If food says "best by 4/6/26," how long does it take to deterioriate from "not best" to "not edible"? And does your answer depend on whether you're trying to win an argument with your spouse?

reminds of the scene from "Red 2", where they enter the old old old safe house in Moscow. Marvin picks up an old old old moon pie and starts to eat it. Sarahs asks him "Is that safe?" and Marvin replies "It's before they had that, you know, "sell by" date stuff."

Yes.

But , a week ago or so - finished (what I thought was) the last box of graham crackers - bought 2 more boxes at the store. Day or so later, go grab a box off the shelf - open (not paying much attention) shove into mouth and - gag - awful - ****ing taste like plastic - look at the box - smells like plastic. real bad. Check the expiration date - something like 2020. I think they would have been OK if they the plastic wrappers had not started to go bad.

(turns out when the wife was helping put stuff away she found the old box on the back of the shelf.)

Sounds like the one time I tried rice cakes (actually it was two times, my first and last). The carboard box they came in had a much better taste. I used to to say I didn't know what Styrofoam taste like, but now I believe I do ...

Depends on whether it's Zulu or local time. Maybe the eggs were imported from across the International Date Line?

When I was a kid, I remember once mom had the flu so the guys had to try to scrounge up dinner. We found a can of something in the cupboard that was tomato based. Sauce maybe? Not sure. It had an expiration date. We weren't sure that mattered. We started to open the can. A fountain of tomato product came squirting out. We decided that perhaps this wasn't good, and instead ordered pizza.

Since then I pay attention to the expiry date on canned goods, and watch for the "air in" when the can is punctured rather than the "air out", and don't even try puffy cans. Because I don't want to be one of the 12 or whatever people a year that figure out a way to die by botulism. And because I'm a big baby.

Fresh eggs, meat, veggies? Looks good, smells good, no mold, I'm good. Always always always cook the chicken to 6-log whatever it is. Never keep leftover takeout past 2 days. YMMV.

Right now I’m looking out the tower windows at at last count was 10 people on the runway scratching their heads trying to decide what to do. Couple weeks ago they wanted to coat the runway to kick the can another year or so before the runway is scheduled for replacement. I’m talking tear down to the dirt and replace it. Well the coating they used to seal in all the small rocks from the old asphalt is breaking off in chunks. It looks like the stuff you find on a BBQ grate cleaner opposite the wire bristle side. Black, porous and frangible.

Someone has a lot of ‘splainen to do.

Today I received an email about an outstanding balance with my PCP (or whatever)... with a click on this link to see an itemized bill (yes, it was a valid email and valid link).

Right there at the top of this "itemized bill" is the banner: "THIS IS NOT A BILL"

Pay it with those deceptive check-looking mailers you get from auto repair shops that say "THIS IS NOT A CHECK".

I hate the “Cure (pick any malady) with this simple trick from ingredients you probably already have in your pantry” ads.

They talk too much
Never say what the ingredients are
Link another video which leads you to a website where you need to buy a high priced “cure”

I think these people need to be hung up by the balls and fed Ex-Lax

Edit: realizing this crowd will ask what malady I have, I don’t really have one. The “pink salt trick” is the one I’m referring to

I just ignore 99.9% of what’s on line. Nearly every ad you see is a scam. I make it a point not to click on any of them.

You won’t believe number #9!!!

I made a sticker for a friends computer, years ago, because I was tired of fixing it after they got spyware/viruses. The sticker said 'Just say "no"'. Meaning the Nancy Reagan quote about drugs, but for my friend it was clicking on random things, not drugs. But it's kinda the same thing. Sticker actually worked.
