Summer afternoons around here are also hard. Mornings are better.
But today is early spring, nice break from gray winter. It’s like Mother Nature is taunting us.

Scientists studied it years back and the the formalized formula is something likeWhy is it that there's an inverse relationship between the speed at which you want something and the speed at which it moves? I ordered a couple parts from Spruce in Chicago on Sunday. I didn't need them super fast, I was hoping for Wednesday. Knowing that standard mail often takes a whole week, I spent a little extra for "priority mail", which was cheaper than UPS/Fedex, and was supposed to get it here in 3 days.

So I'm never using USPS again. They just get worse and worse.
This has probably been posted in this very thread before, but aviation safety is serious enough to bear repeating.Beautiful day to fly. But I'm not.
After working on the engine last night, I went to a Mexican restaurant that's close to the airport. The seafood burrito was excellent, albeit expensive, and the service was top notch. At 4AM I got to experience it all again in the other direction. I think I'm past the threat of puking again, but now my intestines are tied in a knot as the last of it works its way out. Was supposed to have some college buddies over today, but I can barely get out of bed. This sucks.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Must be a thing. We went out with friends last night and I had salmon tacos. This morning I experienced a need for some anti-diarrhea medicine. If anything, I would blame the non-salmon portion of said "tacos". They seemed to consist of a slab of salmon and half a gallon of cole slaw like stuff dumped into a flour tortilla. Funny how every time I have a bad experience from a restaurant, it seems that cole slaw is involved.Beautiful day to fly. But I'm not.

I have pretty much everything done i can do before it gets hung. The shop got busy of course, so it'll be a couple days before they can get on it.How’s the engine coming along?
They're going to hang the engine on the plane, wire it, plumb it, put the prop on. I'm going to be busy this week, so good chance they'll do the ground run as well. The first flight will be on me. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.What does the shop have to do? Inspect?
Man, it will feel great to get that in the air again!Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.
Just to set a little placeholder/reminder/suggestion: after you get this thing together, make sure the most recent meal before you fly it, you cook at home.
100 hours a year is pretty good for a recreational pilot. I know a bunch who do 30-40.Got my license Jan 1 2020, and just now went over 500 hours.

Yikes. I'd be worried about proficiency at that level. One thing my former club does is force you to buy 2 hours of flight time per month. You could bank it for up to 24 hours, but after that you started losing it. It strongly encourages pilots to fly a minimum amount. The downside is that it excludes people like me who own a plane, but would like to access another one for a handful of hours a year. The average hours flown in our partnership is 16. Annually. Less than half the partners fly >20hrs/yr.
Those have been pretty static numbers since at least 2010.
Yikes. I'd be worried about proficiency at that level…..
Our assessment includes a 20hr flight credit to “encourage” members; that’s been in place 10 years now and it’s not like the hourly rate ($85 dry) is exorbitant. To quote one of our former partners, no matter how hard we try, we seem to attract pilots with low ambitions.…One thing my former club does is force you to buy 2 hours of flight time per month. 38E? Is that a seating row? Didn't even know they had rows that went back that far...I found out why Frontier tickets are so inexpensive this weekend, the hard way. It was 38E bad.
That was my seat. I also did not know that beforehand. To be fair, the ticket was purchased less than 24 hours in advance.38E? Is that a seating row? Didn't even know they had rows that went back that far...

one you pay by check to a cfi and the other you pay with cash to 6er.So I'm filling this insurance paperwork out....
What's the difference between a BFR and a Pilot Proficiency Exam? I always understood these as the same.
