the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

New governor control came in. This one is the proper color. Original was black. Being the only color sufficient flying member in my family that always bothered me more.

Amen brother. My prop control is also black - drives me nuts. A small part of me wants to replace a perfectly good prop control with blue one. Even thinking of how I could tape or wrap part of it.

Same....and then it gave up the ghost just before a trip and was aog for 4 weeks, luckily it happened at home. I'd buy the thing just to have it in waiting.

Not a bad idea. Where did you get yours? Spruce?

Mcfarlane. Essentially custom made as the pa32 300 only had vernier control for 565 serial numbers. Spruce quoted 6 weeks. Mcfarlane was less than 4. Price difference was 5 bucks. 638 vs 633

you guys do know that paint is a thing, right?
Too lazy to get it all apart. And wasn't too sure the solvents wouldn't destroy the 57 year old plastic bits.

Not sure how to paint it without removing it, and if paying for that might as well put in a new one.

Also not sure how durable paint would be.

Breezy tonight. No one has open hangar space, so keeping fingers crossed.

Hope all had good luck with last nights storms. That line ran from the Gulf to almost the Great Lakes.

Ah yes. “Shimmer”.

Not my generation. Body spray, etc. The new Old Spice commercials showing a dude lathering himself in a bath tub. I guess it speaks to the target audience of Gen Z, although Old Spice is a Baby Boomer brand. Now, get off my yard and stop listening to your weird music while pop in a REO Speedwagen cassette into my Walkman.
I inherited old spice from my dad. I have his last bottle. They don’t use ceramic bottles anymore.

I ran a 5K race with our older daughter on Saturday. She’s in her mid 20s and getting faster, while I’m in my later 60s and am getting slower. This was a nice flat Florida course in Fort Walton Beach. She set a new personal best at a little less than 29 minutes. I finished in a few seconds less than 34 minutes, which is the fastest I’ve done in 3 or 4 years.

Turns out a tornado touched down a few miles from the airport. Plane is fine, where I left it, no hail damage, etc.

My fastest mile time was 5:21. I can't touch that now. Nor do I want to try.

there is a beautiful barred owl in the woods behind my house, but I wonder if he knows he's not allowed there

I've done that... but still haven't resorted them. It's been YEARS...

How are you going to know which is bolt AA, or nut CC, and so on? Those IKEA instructions are terrible. :)

Some dumbass (me) precariously balanced it while looking for a bolt in another box.
Just a thought - you should leave a little plastic bag of random nuts and bolts in the right seat door compartment. Then when flying with someone new, you can tell them all about how you just rebuilt the engine. After they're suitably impressed, you can point to the compartment for them to retrieve the bag. Tell them you're not sure where the rest of those go, but that you're going to get right on it after this flight.

I finally noticed it was Spring already... took in the driveway markers.

Watch out for snow. You've been warned
