the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

Too early.

Why is there a picture of a naked man opening the emergency door?

Doing a pre flight on plane today, and I see this. Now, shouldn't there be an antenna coming out of the antenna boot? What am I missing here?

ELT antenna? Just don't crash and you're good to go.
Has to be the ELT. The puzzling question is just how in the world does an ELT antenna disappear, but leave the boot?

Is the ELT still present? Was it signed off at the plane's last annual?

Yes and yes. BTW, after I bought the plane in June it had to have a few weeks of work to rebuild and reinforce the battery box area - a previous battery had leaked and corroded things. I wonder if the guy they assigned to crawl into the rear fuse to do the work pulled it out from the inside by accident?

The first thought for me was more along the lines of “Good grief - how many more different ways exactly are there that a plane can need work?”

You really, REALLY don't want to know the answer to the question. Sometimes ignorance is bliss :D

Looks like you might have a vandal in the area. He stole your antenna, and put the tail on backwards for the aircraft behind you.

Airport people - wacky pranksters they are.

@Racerx u got some competition in S. FLA

How local is it if he's selling it in a station wagon next to a construction site....or garbage dump?

Oddly enough, I'm finally starting to extract the fall harvest. 35 gallons so far. Who needs a 5 gallon bucket of honey??

I wish all the frames were like this

Who is working on an AI cross country assistant? You know, a bot that calls for current overnight fees, courtesy car availability, distance to food etc

It’s probably something people would want but not pay for…but maybe aging boomers would?

Actually, I guess an AI assistant could also provide cfi answers at just the right time, like listing out a lost comm checklist or emergency landing

Signed, my kids are all adults so I have 3 empty seats now

Got my first EDCT time yesterday after waiting on the phone with Flight Data for a bit.

They thought there was traffic more important than you? Surely they were mistaken.

I just got back today - last previous flight Oct 3.

Four hour round robin to Hilton Head and back to break in some new cylinders. Great to be flying again. And the engine is now a beast compared to what it was. Granted I was running it hard to set the rings, burning 15 GPH (it’s a 182 P). But with no pants and larger tires hanging in the wind I was between 140-145 kts TAS.

My landings were “rusty”, and I asked for my “Release” vs “Clearance”, but it didn’t go half bad all in all.
7.5 tach hours of X Country now. After the third flight, the oil consumption is now stable / not using oil. Initially filled to 10, went down to 8 after 5 hours. Filled it back to 9, and after a 2 1/2 hour run it's holding at 9 now. So relieved that I've got this done and it seems to be working / breaking in well. Now, onto the next thing (see my post about a missing ELT antennae. https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/com...-of-its-own-thread-thread.127787/post-3583368 How does an ELT antennae disappear?)

Even diabetics?
Especially diabetics! If your sugar intake is strictly limited, would you rather have a spoon of refined, granulated sugar, or a spoon of raw honey?

More calorically dense, and Im watching my svelte figure

Frankly after extracting 120 gallons (1400 lbs) this year I'm kind of sick of the stuff.

Anyone that stops by the home drome ill make sure to leave a quart in the FBO.

Got any homeless shelters around that would put it to good use?
