And no, I'm not interested in the PC-12. The thing is awesome but I wouldn't buy it for the same reason I wouldn't buy a black Escalade.. at this point PC-12s seem "too corporate" for personal use. And no, I wouldn't want anything bigger.
A nice big, dry well lit, heated hangar...for $200/month
A parallel valve IO-540 in my Arrow..and tip tanks. Essentially a Comanche without the hassle of owning one.
A nice biplane would be second on my list, behind a nice Beech Staggerwing . . . .
What hassle?
Spent time around both airframes and the arrow seemed to be the more simplistic and easy plane mx wise, also spent less time in the shop.
Correct. Thats exactly what i meant. An arrow airframe, with the comanche engine.
Move to Indiana
A headset that would fit over my turban.
Dang... haven't seen any of those around here...
Not heated but in Georgia I've had a $175 T-hangar and currently a larger $250 T-hanger that allows 2 planes to fit in. Everything is cheaper in the southeast.
So you want two biplanes, a nice one and a Staggerwing?
An AOA indicator. Any suggestions? LOL
Thanks for the feedback. My buddy is starting a maintenance shop and your input will help me do some product give-a-ways sometime soon. If you care to keep an eye out for one, follow his company on Facebook. Just search for Mobile Aviation Maintenance through FB.
His business is based at KMOB. We deal with that confusion all the time here. For us, Mobile is just our town. But for the rest of the county, mobile just means you are able to be moved easily... He's just getting started but feel free to give him a ring to discuss your needs. John Baumgarten - 251-656-2712What part of the country are you In? Mobile is fairly close to me, but I suspect you meant "mobile" and won't drive all the way to Lower Alabama to work on my plane . . .
