Sportys kicked to the curb for Spruce

I just realized I had an AOPA sweatshirt years and years ago. It was overpriced and I wore it mostly to work outside in winter.

Didn't want to lie to y'all! Hahaha.

you mean my conclusion that Coke Zero tastes 1000 times better than Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Max has nothing to do with why I buy it instead of Pepsi?

Really? Wow. Who knew that it was all those coke glasses on AI. . .

Ooh, another member of the Coke Zero religion. That stuff is my "I'm going to die from drinking too much soda, leave me alone you annoying healthy person..." weapon of choice. ;)

Are we big enough to need a secret handshake yet? :)

A lot of the "zero" stuff is really good - My favorite is Cherry Coke Zero. Well, take that back - That's the best I can buy in a can and keep in my fridge. The best I've had was from a super-spiffy touchscreen soda fountain at Five Guys, where i was able to get a Grape Fanta Zero. Yum!

I tend to like Pepsi products better, but for some reason it's hard to find Pepsi One, and I think that's the only "One" product they have. I really wish they'd bow to the gods of Acesulfame Potassium and come out with Mountain Dew One - Then I'd be in heaven.

I will never buy from Aircraft Spruce :nono:

I ordered a new logbook a few months ago and they charged me an exorbitant amount for shipping & handling ( more than twice the logbook price ).

I contacted them several times but it didn't help.

Based on that negative experience, I ordered a Bose headset from Marv Golden and was very happy with their service ( and their prices are very competitive ).

As for the AOPA merchandise...if they want me to advertise the organization, they should give away their hats and shirts for free...

Advertising can have an opposite effect...

I'll never buy Geico insurance. The media blitz they excrete from every orifice tells me that way too much of their budget goes to advertising which naturally must translate to less going to customers via lower rates or easier claims.

So easy a caveman can figure that one out. ;)

Geico's squealing pig makes me want to commit acts of violence against anyone and anything associated with that company.

Hitting close to home boys. ;)

I have bought a number of items from Aircraft Spruce over the years. I have been happy with the products and the price. Why would I stop shopping there because Sporty's (which is over priced with a smaller selection) is not an AOPA "partner"?

The only AOPA gear I had was a the free hat. I lost it and have considered buying a new one as I really liked it, but the old one had had bleach splatter on it from something I can't remember, but that made it look even cooler so it's irreplaceable.

Guys,

I just received a personal message from Jim Irwin, Aircraft Spruce's President.

Jim provided some important insights regarding my original complaint and credited my account with the amount I paid for this transaction as he felt I was not satisfied with my last order.

I had no idea that Aircraft Spruce was monitoring the POA board.

I was highly impressed by the fact that their president ( no less ) took the time to personally address this issue.

I feel this really proves their genuine and outstanding commitment to customer satisfaction

Needless to say I have changed my mind and will gladly buy from Aircraft Spruce in the future.

This is a shining example of excellent service.

Aircraft Spruce was never really of any use to be until I bought the Flybaby..now it's kind of my goto for random parts.

Day-in, day-out, Spruce is "good people". I've bought a gazillion things from them over the years - by phone, electronic orders, counter pick-up, at fly-in's, etc. Given the variety of things they sell, they do a heck of a job.

I've also bought from Wicks, Wag-Aero, Sporty's, Chief, Gulf Coast, Pacific Coast, and more than a few others. Most of them are fine too, but Spruce's catalog sets them apart as does their price match guarantee.

I like Spruce as well - my original comment was truly tongue in cheek. They are always helpful and always willing to take the next step to make something happen . . .
