Leslie and I had planned to head up there tomorrow, but the cold weather and the 30kt gusts changed our minds. If the colors hold up, we might go in a week or two, but this weekend, we are going somewhere in Florida.
 
Okay, so what time is this little soiree??? If Wingwing's heater installation gets done in time this week I may be able to make it... :dunno:

I'll wait to hear. I'm probably going to fly tomorrow anyway, but may go in a different direction (like toward the water) where forecast seems a bit better.
 
for anyone looking to fly there is a PnP flight going on where the lady is having trouble filling the JQF to LHZ leg. I would be all over it if my plane was out of the shop but it aint so I can't commit to it. I told her I'd ask around so lemme know if you think u can do it. dog is coming into JQF on saturday.
 
Looks like low ceilings for sure in that area. AVL TAF is calling for 200-600' ceilings until afternoon. Bummer.

I was going to do an Angel Flight tomorrow, picking meeting for leg 2 at AVL, but the patient isn't going to be able to travel tomorrow.

I’m going to take advantage of the mild IFR conditions and get in a few approaches :)
 
I’m not sure about this weekend. The Monroe air show is this weekend so I might do that either Saturday or Sunday depending on weather.
 
It's decent if you like WWII vintage aircraft. Not a GA friendly event at least not the last time I went. All the airplanes are roped off away from the spectators.
 
Well, that certainly sucks. While I do enjoy watching the flying portion of airshows, I enjoy getting up and close with the planes just as much if not more.
 
For the record, I’d double check that tfr. It’s 3 days worth.
 
Website says they discourage fly ins also. That's starting to become the norm at some of these events. FFC has done that in recent years and it used to be a good show to fly in for. You'd think they'd make a good chunk of change off selling gas and encourage fly ins.
