Snowball’s chance in hell

Traffic was really bad for a while when the schools let out, looks like it's calming down a bit.

I'm still in the office. My wife is stuck at the office, I'm waiting to see if she needs to be picked up at Marta, or if she can drive home.

My Father in law worked 37 years for the road crew of German Flats Ny. they would tell him to take the snow plow home, so he wouldn't have to drive his car to work on snowy days. talk about not going to work excuses.

I am a ways south of you. We had flakes coming down last night. Nothing has stuck.

For some reason I thought y’all were more east than south. Don’t know why.

2” overnight. Looking out the backyard.

Very nice for South Texas!

One time in Alaska, we woke up to zero, zero conditions. I went to the airport, we cancelled the first flights and went to one of the 2 local restaurants for breakfast.

After eating, back to the airport, still zero zero outside.

We checked the weather, talked to the guys at FSS. Still zero, zero and forecasted to be that way all day.

We called the main office and gave them the weather forecast. At 10am the director of operations said go ahead and cancel the rest of the days flights.

By 11am we were in no condition to fly, or drive or even walk.

At noon, we heard an airplane fly over. We looked at each other, then I opened the curtains to see bright blue and cloudless skies...... Uh oh....

The phone rings, it is the station manager. He wants to know if we are in any condition to fly....

He joined us a few minutes later.

Here in Lower Alabama, we've had mixed rain and sleet most of the day, except when it changed periodically to all sleet. The ground is slowly getting coated, my deck has ~1/2" slush on it. Gonna freeze hard tonight, ~27° for the low. Tomorrow morning is gonna be interesting . . . Got nowhere to go, so I'll sleep late and have some coffee on the couch.

Still snowing here in Roswell. I measured 5.5 inches on top of my composter.

I couldn't quite make it home, my car's about a quarter mile away. When the front wheels start slipping, traction control kicks in and pretty much stops the car. I didn't see any way to disable it.

80F here in the southeast today. Sure feel sorry for y'all nawtherners....

Here in Colorado (at 7,500-ft) it has only snowed a bit once so far this year. All dry and bare.
But first real snow is also a mess in CO because people have to learn all over how to drive in the stuff.

Looks like 5-6" at my house. That's as far as I got, too many crazies out there trying to drive. Told wife I ain't going nowhere Fri (today) as we knew what was coming last night. Feel for the dog, doesn't get her walks in or hang out on the deck. Sunny tomorrow, 40s, so it melts.....

Well that seems like an ill conceived design.

and we're sitting here in Colorado, wondering where our snow is ...

I saw on the news this morning that it's snowing in northern and central MEXICO!!! And sticking!

Sounds like it's from the "Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt" school of safety engineering... :)

@Bill Jennings lol'd at the north/south driving pic. Hilarious.

If you have clean snow, get some carnation (evaporated) milk, sugar, and vanilla... and make some snow creme for you and the kids.
We would sleigh ride all day and eat it at Grandmas. Good times!

Add berries for different flavoring.

Well maybe if you are at Barrow or Nome AK, the rest is polluted.

It is polluted in bush Alaska. Think 2 stroke snow machines and other small engines without EPA restrictions, plus fuel oil heating and waste oil heating.

The best or funniest part of this little snow storm besides southerners freaking out is the folks who still don’t understand the difference between climate and weather when discussing climate change.

Yeah, I knew my comment would bring out the English majors.

And then there's those folks who still don't understand the difference between climate and weather when discussing the weather.

Like people in Seattle. Nice climate. Lousy weather. ;)

Oh, I was especially horrible at spelling and grammar. I still have little idea of how to conjugate a verb and struggle when to use a comma and whether punctuation goes inside or outside of quotation marks. I also tend to end sentences with prepositions. It is all still a struggle for me and I have to try real hard to get it right but I do try. I usually will read anything I write at least twice to ensure I didn’t make too many obvious stupid mistakes. I even double or triple check internet posts where the bar is set so low that most folks wouldn’t even care or notice if I made a mistake. I guess that extra effort that I put into my own writing is why I sometimes become a bit of a pedant when it comes to the writing of others. Laziness annoys me more and more as I age.

Ya better, I'm watching YOU! o_O

I'll take it.
you can't set us on fire with a blow torch. Although we like you to try right now.

The rest of us know how you folks up there on the north-left coast handle your occasional snowfalls...shovelling your walks with a dustpan in your Birkenstocks.:D

(I grew up out there and still maintain an office in south Seattle ;) )

Shovel walks, that's funny

Traffic is always bad when the schools let out. I'd rather drive a rickshaw on the LIE during a blizzard than get in the way of a teacher when school lets out.
