There are good neighborhoods around MDW? Ever think that maybe neighborhoods that have flight patterns over them became bad neighborhoods because airplanes constantly fly right over top of them? I am confident this is not an intentional thing.

Finally, someone has brought light to this. I've been advocating the airlines going to the overhead break for some time now. The faster they come in, the less likelihood of passengers seeing ugly humanity.

Spent a few nights in Newark last month, commuting in and out of the city. Quite the armpit, if I do say so myself. I like NYC, but Newark, Harrison, Secaucus, not so much. Get closer toward Rockaway and I might be able to make due.
Yea, Joisey is Joisey either way you look at it. Always enjoy visiting, but I think I’ll keep my hat hung in TN, as George Strait once said.
Yeah, Memphis is the exception. First time I went there, I was surprised to see what part of town Graceland was in.

As far as I’m aware, there’s just RNAV GPS approaches, none of which an airline will utilize.
More than likely, what we see here is just 3rd party information that has no credible source.

a lot of people act like they're from jersey. some people hate anyone from jersey, that doesn't make any sense to me. but we're kinda special, we have our own pilot forum, pilots of jersey. so there's pilots of america for everyone else, and PoJ just for us.
If I was just in Jersey last month and I’m a pip-squeak pilot but still technically a pilot, does that qualify me as a ‘Pilot of Jersey’ ?

eman you know what ****ed off my Dad? That Joisey never had their own pro team in any sport, excluding the Devils, the most populous state per square mile. So people in S. Joisey pulled for Philly teams, N.Joisey NYC teams. Plus most of the pro sports facilities for NY teams are in Joisey, go figure

I don't think he's a troll. I think avoiding flight over ugly neighborhoods and generally the ugly people that live there, is a serious problem for airlines.
There's a good reason why most military transports don't have windows and generally arrive in the middle of the night. Looking at Baghdad or Kabul is demoralizing. You want to arrive refreshed, with a positive outlook. Not, "oh ****! This is one ugly place."

Other than Trenton and Camden, Jersey isn't all that bad south of Perth Amboy. North of there, eh, may as well give it to NY. I think the Jersey coast Toms River and south is pretty nice.

It's simple Jordane. For the sake of your passengers, you need to avoid flying over America's most unattractive cities. If you must though, you need to come in damn steep. Like Space Shuttle steep. And don't be using no auto throttles while you do it either! Untold damage to your engines with that nonsense.

Rural NJ is pretty - hills, forests, Bambis, road kills, mountain Laurel, honeymoon places. Urban Jersey is a festering Hell hole, just a notch above equatorial African cities, but without the exotic flavor, though the odd body decomposing in the street is in common. . . I know; I spent a year in Newark one night.
