I’m looking for a few little airports that have REALLY nice resorts nearby…like the kind of place you would do a wedding or an anniversary.

Asheville NC, AVL

It would help us know where you're at and how far you're willing to go.

His previous posts seemed focused on Texas.

Homestead, Hot Springs VA
Nemacolin Resort PA (has its own runway)

For those of us unfamiliar with his previous posts, it might make sense to put that information in this post. But wtf do I know.
When responding to this sort of posts, I assume the OP will forget he ever made a post here, never show up again, etc., but at least our replies will be helpful to other members who might find this information through the search function, or other internet randos that stumble across this through a google search.

What’s your budget?

Hi guys. Anywhere in the lower 48. Budget less than $1000/nt. Closer to a field the better. Thanks!

KLAS - I hear there are a lot of resort casinos nearby…. ;)

I think your plural 's' is misplaced. I only see 1 previous.
I saw 4 posts from him (including the one starting this thread) when actually looking at his profile and not the post counter.

Many come to mind.
Tucson- hacienda del sol.
Sedona- l’auberge de Sedona
Furnace creek (Death Valley NP)- furnace creek inn
McClellan-Palomar- cormorant or many others in La Jolla
Monterrey (or Marina if the small airport component is more important- for a Charlie, MRY is super GA easy/friendly) - Carmel highlands or Carmel valley ranch
North Las Vegas- too many to menation
Napa ditto

Can you give us some more guidance of what your looking for? Hot? Sunny? Scenic? Beach? Wine country?

Jekyll isn’t a bad choice. Golf, trails, bike path around the island (25 miles or so), wildlife with deer walking around since they are protected, water park, and a variety of hotels. For those unaware, Jekyll Island is where the Federal Reserve was organized and formed in millionaire village. Jekyll Island Club hotel is pretty nice. As a bonus, GoFly lives only 25 miles or so away

The Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham, MA. Right on the “elbow” of Cape Cod. The Chatham airport is a bit distant, but a call to the front desk summons a courtesy car and driver. Definitely high end pricing but worth it in my book.

Another vote for Nemacolin (PA88). The runway is currently closed, but is scheduled to open this month.

Jekyll island Georgia a fine resort with a runway.

Everyone's idea of a "resort" is something different. My recommendation would be Big Cedar Lodge. Closest airport BBG or PLK

Related to Sunriver- fly into sisters (Eagle air- 6k5), black butte resort

We got married in our living room. Same place we celebrate our anniversaries.

We have an airbnb...

This is a great thread. There are a lot more options than I imagined. It's nice when the City/State are included in the post to get some idea what part of the country (or Continent for Canada) the resort is located. There are a few listed that I might check in to. (figuratievely and literally)

And, don't be like the Southwest Airlines 737 and land on 12 at PLK when you think you're landing on 14 at BBG!

BBG = 7,142 x 150, 14/22

PLK = 3,738 x 100, 12/30

Good thing they got it stopped, it would have been one helluva ride off the end of it. 80' or so down to HWY 65 and then another 120' or so down to a creek east of 65.

That Boeing would have been going boing...boing...boing...boing.

But to the point:

Another option is K15 (Osage Beach, MO) across the highway from the Missouri version of Margaritaville on Lake of the Ozarks. Margaritaville was formerly Tan-Tar-A Lodge and they had a shuttle to/from the airport. I don't know if they still do but it is (or, at least was) a pretty casual spot with the typical lake activities, a couple of golf courses, etc. But I haven't been there since it wat Tan-Tar-A.

Grand Geneva.

"Grand Geneva Resort was built as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel in 1968, and the airport was marked on the FAA Sectional Aeronautical Chart as Playboy. Commuter air service was available directly from Chicago, O'Hare."

Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island SC. Charleston Executive KJZI is a short 20 Minutes away.
