Private checkride went horribly wrong!

Barry: These people invited us here to make fun of us; this is a contest for the biggest idiot-which I nailed!

You know, you might be on to something there!

Jay has been suspiciously absent.

I don't think it's Jay. He couldn't have held off this long talking about how he had to teach the DPE how to do a zoom climb departure, and tell us what a dumbass the DPE was for not knowing that.

Nope. One drink and I'm no longer driving. Not worth the risk of losing my medical. In AZ they're given out like candy.

When my wife and I have a beer with dinner she drives for this reason.

For what reason? Losing your medical? Since when will you lose your medical if you have a legal amount of alcohol in your system for driving?

My argument is flying a plane and crashing it will not kill any more people necessarily than driving a car and crashing it while under the influence but still legal.

Barry: Vincent Van Gogh. Everyone said to him, "You can't be a great painter, you only have one ear." And you know what he said? "I can't hear you."

What's the big deal with landings? It is so easy, even a computer can do it. Category 3 ILS. Closed loop. Watch speed, watch the threshold, control pitch and throttle. Use rudder to point down centerline and opposite aileron to track it with no side drift. That sums it up totally.

Absolutely trivial.

The problem with most pilots is they think they're special. No, you're not. Nothing special. Just a hairless ape at the controls. That is all.

I am special. I'm a hairless ape with some other skills.

I know I infuriate you. You wish I were dead. I point out what is obvious, and you hate me for it.

Lol, I don't wish you were dead and you far from infuriate me. We are all no more than hairless apes. Aircraft are not physically difficult to operate, you are correct, they are far from the most difficult piece of equipment I operate, I would probably give that to a dynamic crane without modern computer compensation. Doing a big offshore lift like a production platform and setting it on its stand pins with an approaching storm is far trickier than landing an airplane.

However, as I said earlier, flying is all about the mental process, and in that it is one of the most difficult as you have many factors in a dynamic environment that you have to continuously monitor and consider. It's like being a bookie and working an NFL season constantly calculating the odds in a continuously changing multi variable equation to keep the odds in your favor so you don't get killed. You project an air of dismissiveness of all but the rudimentary factors, and this is typical of bad gamblers, and they are why casinos make a fortune. A professional gambler never dismisses a factor in his odds making. A pro will get out the racing form and spend hours before bell time going through the statistics, then he'll visit the stable if possible and look over the horses, if not he'll watch the pre race parade carefully looking for signs of fitness, injury, and attitude not only of the horse but jockey as well, and even consider the record of the jockey on that horse in various conditions. Then he will make a show bet on the horse he thinks will win, and that gambler will live a long life consistently making 30% on his money. The poor gambler will bet on a name, or go with the board odds just before post, they will always be broke degenerate gamblers. There are also those who have developed their own superstitious 'system' because they are smarter than everyone else and can't be bothered to put in the work. They go past broke, they go deep into debt with their bookie (they have no cash to go to the track or OTB ), they get their legs broken or end up 'working it off' for the local mob boss on a 'job' that lands them in prison getting ass raped for 15 to Life.

If you're actually for real, aviation is going to ass rape you.

Risk analysis.

Your ego is so large I am surprised you can fit your headset over it. You must realize that your responses since you started this thread are so out of touch with what any rational person would say that people are more believing that you are a troll, or a setup as a joke, than a real person. If you really believe what you are saying and you are not fooling with us then you really should consider holding off on getting your PPL, and seaking professional help. If however you are fooling with us, or a troll then the jokes on us.

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. With time, you will realize that I am right. It is not easy to break away from the masses who are heading towards the cliff, and realize that going in a direction that everyone else says is wrong is in fact right. Everyone who falls over the cliff believes they are right, until they are dead.

You need to open your eyes Douglas. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Hey, Peter. Watch out for your cornhole, bud.

Quoth P. F. Lemming.

Jay is a really cool dude. I really like his hotel too. He is a great pilot and a great human being.

Okay, seriously, it is time to end this. You have all been incredible sports. No hard feelings. No, I am not Jay.

I am not a regular poster here. I've been lurking probably more than a year. This is a great website, and I was just having a little fun. If you notice, I only posted in this thread. It was not my intention to disrupt this website, I was just having some fun.

I am a PPL with IR, about 700 hours or so. Just an average pilot, and never failed my checkride. I enjoyed my training including using paper charts.

I hope there are no hard feelings. It was just for the sake of a little humor. I have huge respect for most of you. Thanks for the laughs.

If I get banned, I understand and I harbor no hard feelings on my side.

If that's true, impressive thread lol.

You have reached the end of the Internet - Thank you for Stopping By.

It was a pretty good troll.. most posts had some legitimate stuff in them, and then at least one item that was 100% troll material. The kind of thing that other pilots just *had* to comment on (hence the 1000 posts).

I saw it as a sort of spoof on some pilots with overblown egos, as well as throwing just the right tidbits in to get the masses riled up.

This is what the politicians do to us all the time, except they never come clean.

Because I want to do my part to push this thread over the edge: Hi, I'm a real new guy. Been lurking for a while but just joined.

I did, in fact, fail my first checkride, but I saved it up for the very end. Greaser landing to the left of center. :(.

I passed my second ride the very same day, with a landing at F69. The choice of field (which was the DE's, not mine) will be obvious to those from the area.

I took a decade or so off from flying before getting into gliders last year, and I'm just now getting back into power.

Damn it is unusual to fail for being left of center. Unless you're in Spin Zone. Ba-da-CHING!
