One of the most amazing airshow displays I have seen

I really, really need to get there one year...

Wow.!! And listen to the people cheering.!!

Here in Gallup for the 4th of July they had those drones with lights. No flash, no bang.

Just folks in the crowd asking....''Where are the fireworks.??''

it was the usual night airshow. kinda repetitive if have seen it for the past few years. But the drone show was amazing! I really think that will be the future. Seeing planes do the same loops and hammerheads will always have a place, but the flexibility of using drone for light shows was exciting,

The night show was fantastic! Matt Younkin has always been one of my favorites, and his night show kicks it up with all the lights. The fireworks were great, too, and the drones were amazing.

Very cool and lucky to be able to see it in person. The end of the night show gave me goosebumps. And the F16 and F18 also gave me goosebumps every time they flew. Incredible performance.Great people everywhere and awesome place to spend a week or more!

Sadly we are pulling out in a little while after 8 days here. Thank you EAA .

Nobody brought their own? I'm disappointed.

Is it generally the same between Wednesday and Saturday, or is one bigger / better than the other? First time going to see the night show, just curious if I should be planning better for 2025...

I heard more gunfire than fireworks, but yes, there were a few folks with their own fireworks scattered around town.

To be fair, there is a burn ban in effect.

Totally agree. The night air shows at EAA are always great, but this year was the best. The drones were amazing. It’s always great to see the Aeroshell (now Titan) team at night, along with Ken Rieder and Matt Younkin. It never gets old.

My 13 year old son loves the night airshow. He even made me watch the ISS pass that happened after the show!

It's the same show. Possible they might change up what they do with the drones, but that wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Unpopular opinion (apparently) : Younkin's performance is the lowlight of the night airshow. It's boring and the show would be better without it.

Since sadly I was not there....
wondering, for those that were at Sun n Fun this year, how did the night show compare to what they did?

Sun n Fun this year was easily the best "fireworks" show I've ever seen...beating I think, even a fireworks show in Jacksonville FL when they had the Super Bowl here. It was maybe 30 or 40 minutes worth of "grand finale" paced launches from I think three or four different launch points along the river + ground-based stuff from the bridges and highrise buildings

Side note thought about the drone show. We were at Downtown Disney last weekend...ah sorry, Disney Springs they call it now.... They had a drone show there, at least similar to the drone portion of the sun n fun show. While watching I had a thought.
I wonder if in my kids' lifetimes someone will be putting on drone shows in high-definition 3-d......
imagine....a 4k high-def screen has about 8.3 million pixels...so think of a drone show using at least that many aircraft.
Now imagine those aircraft having a battery life that allows flight time to match a feature-length movie!

We have had a Labor Day celebration here in town since the 80s with fireworks off the barges in the middle of the Ohio river.
It's usually about 40 minutes worth cinchonized to music. In the past 40 years it keeps getting better.

But I have never seen a plane flying through it shooting fireworks off!!
