Now it’s settled. (For mscard88)

Many would agree with you, but I like it. Sue me.
Massed produced fizz water we used to call it. Serve it cold enough you can't taste it and it's a cheap drunk.

The taste of Lone Star beer went away when the Olympia Brewing Company bought it.

Lone Star Light is the best cheap beer in TX, even better during hunting season when the can is camouflage haha

I drank a lot of Shiner while in college. The nice thing about Shiner is that you can buy a keg of it and almost nobody will *****. The beer snobs are fine with it, as are the guys that normally drink stuff like Bud Light. It's like the Switzerland of beers. :)

The Shiner must have killed a lot of brain cells if you think Shiner isn’t swill to beer snobs. LOL.

It always kept them from bitching about the beer, which would not have happened if I bought a keg of Bud Light. Besides, I was in college - I didn’t have the money to buy a keg of some hipster small batch IPA. :)

I remember when Shiner Bock beer was only sold in towns that was a one day drive from Shiner. And we played Shiner in football, back when it was a small town. (still a small town to most people, but more population in the area than when we played the Commanches in football)

Nate,

Back in 2009 while in Spearfish, SD I got introduced to Moose Drool. Dang, it hit the spot and after three I was getting a bit unsteady, but it was the best tasting libation I can recall in quite some time.

IPAs are so overrated anyway. And I’m not even a beer snob. They’re everywhere and all pretty much taste like IPAs.

If I’m feeling beer snobby (rare) I’ll take a Stout or a Brown Ale please. :)

But if you bought Bud Light, I’d drink it. Free beer is free beer.

I so rarely drink anyway, talking about beer snobbery is weird. I know a local pilot who homebrews and wins awards and such — and I do enjoy his beer if we are over there and he offers, and he always has two or three homebrews on tap — but I don’t want to insult him saying my tastebuds just DGAF most of the time. I can taste his different flavors and it’s all nice, but it mostly just tastes like beer. :)

We have other friends who are into the whole wine scene. They have had us over for lovely evenings where one of them is a trained sommelier, and they do blind wine tastings. Without fail, the wine I end up liking is the cheapest wine hidden in the wrap. We’ve done it like five times now. My tastebuds are incredibly cheap.

Kayoh,

In college I would have drank Panther **** if it was alcohol laced. I'm a bit more discriminating in my old age. :D

As befits a pilot and CFI. :)

I always say if it's wet and a beer I'll drink it. Falstaff and Sterling (cheap beers back in the day) pushed that theory.

At a brewers convention the CEO of Budweiser, the CEO of Coors, and the CEO of (insert your favorite brand here, I'll go with Ballast Point), belly up to the bar at the end of the day.
The CEO of Bud orders a Bud. The CEO of Coors orders a Coors. The CEO of BP orders orders a Coke. The others look at him incredulously and one of them says, "Your not having beer"? He says "Well since you guys aren't I figured I shouldn't either".

I have heard that from more than one person, so will keep an eye out for it.
