On the Paramount+ streaming service (formerly CBS All-Access). I haven't watched it yet. (Nine episodes)

"SKYMED is a drama about the intense personal lives of the young nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in remote Northern Canada."

Man, when I flew air ambulance 1 out of 20 female nurses looked like that, and she was married.

She would tell me there are new nurses coming in, so I would ask, ''are they married.??''

And the answer would be one of the following:

1. Yes.
or
2. No, but she doesn't like men,
or
3. No, but she used to be a man...

But I will say every nurse we had working for us, male or female or otherwise were the utmost professionals. We were a team, they had their job and I had my job. All flight decisions included the nurses and anyone could turn down a flight for any reason. We might discuss the reason to turn down a flight, but otherwise if 1 person said no go, then it was a no go.

Never a 4. No, but I saw her first

flight nurses? ooo boi that s%6&'s radioactive. Don't dip your pen in the company ink. It just never ends well. Paging @Velocity173 for any medcrew drama stories he may be able to share with. We can compare and contrast with the plethora of honeypot anecdotes I got from the team DoD side lol.

It actually looks very accurate except one scene. If my flight nurse kissed me, I’d punch him in the face.

In all my years as a paramedic, I've only had two people assigned with me that I would be the least bit interested in.

This is exactly why I want to change careers and be a pro pilot. I think I could pull it off and would also have fantastic hair…

Well, I've watched the first two episodes, and I'm enjoying it! I recognize that the drama is overdone, but the only aviation-related beefs I've had so far were minor: A couple of the actors said "pick" instead of "P-I-C," and one of them said "runway zero-six" on the advisory frequency. (Or is that the way they say it in Canada?)

The cgi or whatever is sometimes laughable (one landing looked like WWII dive bomb raid then instantly level and on ground)

Airstrip conveniently located next to most emergencies though they did have a seaplane once

looks really warm to be “northern” Canada which last I looked is not filled with lakeside bikinis

Haven’t seen this one yet, but there is a multiyear series from the UK that was shot at various air med services. No scripting, simply recording what goes on during a call out.

This one is definitely scripted.

I'm in the middle of episode four, and have come to the conclusion that the drama is just fine the way it is. After all, it is billed as drama, not a documentary.

The UK series is titled Air Ambulance, and has a couple different descriptors tagged on, as the series flys with a number of different services over the season and ensuing years.

Also shows some of the extra capabilities they have, that most services don’t, including having trauma doctors onboard, and the capability of administering ER/OR levels of certain treatments on scene.

soap opera and not even a very good one. think I’ll go see the new Thor movie.

My wife refuses to watch these kind of shows with me. She got tired of me saying "Be sure to move his spine around a lot" watching such shows.

What? No name dropping in this post? This must be a record or something.

Nobody you'd have hard of. One was a nice girl who ended up marrying my lieutenant (and later state EMS director) and the other was at the time married to a cop friend of mine but she went into the fire service and divorced him not too long afterward.

Looks like Grey’s Anatomy in the sky.

When I started dating my wife, I knew nothing about the medical field (let alone surgical residency) and started to binge watch Grey's Anatomy. She quickly told me to knock it off and instead watch the most realistic show about her job - Scrubs. :)

Thanks for the tip; I'll check it out.

My favorite Scrubs episode is several seasons in when one of the guest stars comes in and turns the X-ray around that's been displayed backward in the credits up until then.

I'm also fond of Ted's band (bought their CD)...
