It's still not a felony until the 4th offense within 5 years of a previous offense.

Hell, the first offense isn't even a misdemeanor unless there's a child under 16 in the vehicle!

And this is with our newly-strengthened drunk driving laws.

They read off the names of those on the commission. The names included the likes of Leinenkugel & Miller. I chucked and mumbled "yeah, like they're really going to get things done" :)

That's nothing... A few years ago, the state Attorney General got nailed for drunk driving - In a state-owned car! :eek:

I get very confused by people who pretend to be somebody they're not. I just don't get it. :dunno: I expect them to be who they act like, and... Well, I just don't get it. :no: Luckily, I think pilots from ALL states tend to be genuine, hardworking people as well, which is why I like hanging out with them.
 
I have aught but good things to say about Wisconsin and it's denizens (with one or two exceptions, perhaps).

Nice save. Unfortunately I know plenty of Californians who are pretending to be somebody they are not. Don't worry, I love California and will probably never leave. I'm just saying with LA and everything the opportunities to be "fake" are here.

What I noticed when I spent about 18 months in SCal (Irvine & La Jolla) was that if you struck up a conversation with a stranger you'd quickly realize that they were "working you". Almost everyone was working an angle and trying to determine if they could make money off of you or screw you in some way. With that said, that experience was in the mid to late 80's. It's been a while since I was planted there for any length of time.

Yeah, I've had the (mis?) fortune of always having careers that involve travel. Right now I'm sitting in Tompkinsville, KY about an hour outside of Bowling Green. This is the first time I've "lived" in KY. It's "interesting". I'm here for about another month, three total. I get home every weekend (thanks to the 182) but I'm here all week...come out early Monday and head home about noon on Friday (I'm at home drinking a beer by 5pm!)

One thing I've come to realize is that you don't get a true feel for an area when you simply "travel through" no matter how many times you visit. But, stay there all week long, every week for two or three months and you'll really get to know the area. That's what I've done a lot of. It's a good thing I really like to travel because I've been doing it for 30 years.

Several. The biggest ones are in Ohio and Kentucky. But, there are ones in Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, and Virginia as well. Also, the one in Ohio is home to Bowling Green University, with over 17,000 students...

The town I like in Pennsylvania is Laboratory. I put on my best Gene Wilder and pronounce it loudly when I see the highway sign: La-bore-ah-tori.
 
When I flew CAP cadets, especially the young ladies, the first think I would ask is where they wanted to go. Some had opinions, but most just said they didn't know. I'd then ask if they'd like to go to Paris, then Italy. We'd joke around a bit until they caught on; then, it was usually big stuff. And I'd hear them telling friends about it later <g>
The guys usually had things they wanted to do.

OK - thanks! Can't wait.

I wasn't going to check any bags on my way from CA so that I would only have a carry on and I don't know if beer would make it to 6Y9 via three different airplanes or simply break or explode or get taken by TSA. You'll just have to wonder about CA wines and beer. Or should I say fantasize about. We have a lot to offer, beer wise, here and I would have loved to share it with all of you at the fly in.
 
And Hollywood is right up the road from California.

Don't worry about bringing beer Kimberly, we have plenty. The selection is a little limited locally but I intend to make a beer run to Wisconsin a week or two before the 6Y9 fly in. Don't expect me to buy all of the beer but I can get the beer drinking at 6Y9 off to a good start.

I think I may ship some wine from California (is is illegal to ship from CA to MI?) ahead of time to a certain someone in Michigan....

As long as he doesn't drink it all before the 6Y9 fly-in!

Thanks for bringing the beer, but I don't want to show up to the party empty handed! Besides, I live in / near "wine country" and not only do I wonder if these wines are available out there for sale, but I also wonder if they are cheaper here "at the source". Then again, nothing is cheap in California.

Oh and I guess I can't bring too many bottles since Ed's weight and balance is so god damned sensitive to weight . . . .

Best wine I've had so far is from Arkansas and runs about $7 per bottle. We bought like 10 bottles the last time through.

You can get really good moonshine there as well.
 
Had to buy beer last night (a promise I made to a pilot on another website, one whom I've never met). It was to celebrate another pilot passing the checkride - I "virtually raised a glass" between CA and TX.

Saw this in the store and just had to buy it:
