"Make you cockerel crow" and other obsolete aviations terms

Large buildings near airports with white circles painted on the roof, arrow pointed to nearest airport, miles in the center.

These were especially common near Air Mail fields, such as College park, MD.

If lost, land at the nearest airport, fuel up, and find out which way your destination is.

I saw a Huey once that had one of those rigs in it.
I think the old A-7 had something like that only illuminated. Had like two scales of paper maps that were projected onto a display.
