Well, what's left of it anyway...

So @SixPapaCharlie is now the sole owner of a traveler. [Pics in the other thread]

I see a spot in that panel screaming out for a G5!
Probably a G345 transponder (unless Navworx gets it together)

What else do we peanuts think he needs?

G5? Put that over to one side.
He really needs one of these:

And one of these:

Maybe one of these too:

And with the spare change left over, some hardware/software to do this:

I ran out of money yesterday

Welcome to the world of airplane ownership! We all know how that feels (except maybe the Cirrus folks ;) ).

I think it was Gordon Baxter who wrote that the cost of flying is the same as it was 50 years ago...all you got.

Well he'll definitely need a GDL-39 to pass ADS-B In traffic (30 targets) and weather to that Aera. But those are relatively cheap.

Let's not go putting granite countertops in a single wide trailer guys LOL

The seller said that it is very simple to hook that autopilot up to that GPS. I'm not sure what simple means to him but it would be cool to have that option

Good analogy. These older airplanes are like old houses...once you tear into them to do an upgrade it's just like a home renovation. With the same inevitable outcome. :D

Don't forget the AOA! That Traveller can't possibly fly if it doesn't have an AOA in it!

Oohhh- need some spray wax and microfiber rags. Lots of both.

You need to spend something on ADS-B before 2020 because you're inside a mode C veil, right?

Yup. I'm going to upgrade but but it's going to be bare minimum bargain upgrades. I don't want to fill it with glass.

His own private dedicated line service technician (me).

No one's gonna put out a red carpet with 2 water bottles on the corner and cookies on standby without his Cirrus otherwise!

One of those portable ice chest coolers- its Texas.

Every "renovation" starts that way. ;) :D

how's the parts sourcing on the AA-5s these days?

I think that's a bit more than "partial opening." Wanna say that line was no more than 10-12 inches back and 113 kt limit. Still brings a lot of cool air in. You'll have airplane hair when you land.
Airplane hair - heck yeah! I'm flying w canopy open all the time from now on. A cure for my baldness you say?
